Glenford Ross Lockhart passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026, at Arrowsmith Lodge in Parksville, British Columbia, at the age of 89, after a long battle with dementia.
Glen was born on June 29, 1936, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. In 1949, following the death of his mother Dora, Glen travelled west with his father James and older brother Jim to British Columbia, where they settled with the eldest Lockhart sibling, Evelyn Humphries, and her family in Saanich. This move would shape the rest of Glen’s life, as Vancouver Island became his enduring home.
Glen was known as an accomplished athlete, with a lifelong love of hockey and golf—sports that reflected his competitive spirit, discipline, and enjoyment of camaraderie. He built a long and successful career as a salesman in the automotive and RV industry, where his work ethic, integrity, and personable nature earned him respect over five decades.
On March 17, 1961, Glen married the love of his life, Catherine (née Mutter). Together, they built a devoted family and shared many years of partnership and memories. Glen was predeceased by his beloved wife, Catherine, and his cherished daughter Karen.
He is lovingly remembered by his son Mark, daughter Dawn, grandchildren Cathy, Christie, Adam, Alexandra, Brennan, K.T., Damon, his great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who will all miss his presence deeply.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Strawberry Vale Hall in Saanich, British Columbia.
Family and friends are invited to gather to remember Glen and share stories of a life well lived.
