He has many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great greats. Since we never had children, Paul thought the world of his nieces and nephews – if their parents posted on Facebook, Paul loved seeing photos of them.
Paul was born in Bodman, SK and moved to Port Alberni with his family when he was 3 months old. He worked for Coulson & Prescott as a yarding engineer until he was injured at work. He then worked for Swartz Produce Company, Nelson Roofing, and last at Tom’s Bros. Moving and Storage where he hurt his back and after surgery was put on disability.
Paul had many friends both in Canada and Yuma, AZ. He enjoyed smoking fish, and dehydrating vegetables, fruits, and making jerky and pepperoni. Picking berries and bringing them home for Mickey to make jam, jellies, and relishes to give to his friends. Paul started gardening in the last couple of years and he loved it.
Special thanks to Dr Dewitt and his office staff for their care of Paul over his illness, the First Responders and Paramedics who transported Paul to the hospital on February 25th, the staff at West Coast General Hospital for their kindness and care. Special thanks to our niece and nephew in law, Gina and Mike Jones for their help and care.
In keeping with Paul’s wishes, there will be no formal Memorial Service. Cremation has taken place through Yates Memorial Services in Port Alberni, BC.
