Iris was born in Middlesex, England in 1925. She married Ernest Brough and had three children, Clive, Madeline, and Peter. Iris later divorced Ernest and married Harry Lambert of England. She and Harry emigrated to Ontario, Canada in 1967. They divorced in 1980, and she then married George Myers of Ontario, in 1984.

Iris and George travelled across Canada in their fifth wheel. On one summer vacation to Vancouver Island, she fell in love with the Island. Soon, after returning to Ontario on retirement, Iris and George moved out west to call Vancouver Island their new home.

After George passed away in 2006, Iris continued to stay in her home on Vancouver Island where she loved living. She loved her garden and she loved the weather on the west coast. Iris had numerous friends and was a member of the Red Hats. Iris chose her life and lived it well! She will be missed by many friends and family.

Iris is survived by her children, Clive Brough (Jean) of Ontario, Madeleine Roddan (Chris) of Ireland, Peter Brough (Caz) of England; step children, Wendy Pizzardi (Paul) of Ontario, Michelle Nugent (Rob) of Ontario; grandchildren, Gordon Brough (Melissa) of Ontario, Dennis Brough of China; step grandchildren, Michael Nugent of Ontario, Stephen Nugent of Ontario, Philip Nugent of Ontario; great grandchildren, John Brough of Ontario, Sadie Brough of Ontario; sister, June Morton of Vancouver Island; nephews, Kent Morton of Vancouver Island, and Craig Morton (Christine) of Vancouver Island. Iris is predeceased by parents, Percival and Frances Stanley; brother, John Stanley; sister, Pamela Steer, and husband, George Myers.
