With great sadness we announce Jeremy’s passing on Monday, September 21, 2020 in Coombs, BC. He leaves to forever miss him, his children, Taylor, Manaya, and Makayla; grandson, Oliver; siblings, Sean, Melanie, Shayne, and Rhiana; father, Emmett Stokes of Prince Rupert; mother, Pat (step father, Dan) Battrum of Coombs; as well as many cousins, extended family members, and dear friends. Jeremy was predeceased by his maternal Grandma, Edith Long and paternal Grandma, Ina Mae Stokes.
Jeremy was born in Prince Rupert, BC, and as a child loved football and animals. He was always kind to people and stuck up for those who couldn’t stick up for themselves. Jeremy took great pride in his job at Comco in Alberta operating machinery. He was known for his great sense of humour and always managed to make those around him laugh. His raspy voice and laugh always filled the room. His friends describe him as sweet, kind, funny, and say they will always remember his smile and contagious laugh.
Jeremy was the best friend, son, brother, and father. He especially loved being a father. Manaya and Makayla will always be the brightest shinning lights of his life.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Jeremy’s honour on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at 1581 Alberni Highway in Coombs from 2:00 to 6:00 pm. Drop in for a chat around the fire to share your memories and stories of Jeremy.
