John was a man of honour. He was a gentleman with great wisdom. He had a wonderful sense of humour and certainly had a twinkle in his eye. He was a successful businessman whose motto in life was “simplify”.
Beloved husband to Nancy Carol Elaine of 33 years, dear father of Anne (& Mike Labrecque of Qualicum Beach, BC) and Jason (& Melanie Povey of Vancouver, BC), loved and remembered by cousins Sue, Janet and Ted (Povey), nieces Barbara, Nancy and Judy and nephew James (Butler) and many dear family and friends.
Gratitude and thanks to the Kidney Clinic in Nanaimo that continued John’s care, as well as his other Doctors, the many Nurses, Care-aides and Hospice Volunteers that cared for John during his Palliative Course Treatment. This collective care allowed John to be honoured by his wish to die at home with grace and dignity, surrounded by his loving family and caring medical assistants.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to The Kidney Foundation of BC and/or The Heart & Stroke Foundation of BC in John’s name.
