August 17, 1925 – March 27, 2013
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing our beloved husband, father, grandfather & great grandfather.
We take comfort in knowing that he is in the loving arms of his predecessors, father Istvan, mother Maria and brothers Joseph and Stephan. He is survived by twin sister Maria in Szeged, Hungary; his wife of 56 years, Eva; son Tom, daughter Yvette (Mike) , grandson Dustin (Louisa), grandson Weslely (Haley) and great grandson Owen; his sister-in-law Dorka and all of the Koszegi family – Gaby (Jerry), George (Tana), Rob (Sheril), Tom (Line) and Dave (Erin); and great nieces and nephews.
Kal, Eva, Auntie Dorka & Uncle Bela arrived in Halifax following a great escape from Hungary during the Hungarian Revolution in 1956. Kal was an instructor at BCIT for 20 years and an Architect until he moved with his wife to Port Alberni in 1992; to be close to his brother-in-law Dr. Bela Koszegi and his wife’s sister Dorka. He was an avid trout fisherman and so enjoyed the Hungarian “Szalona Sutes” picnics.
Special thanks and appreciation to the incredible Nursing Team, Dr. DePape, Celine and Robin, Dr. Ness and all of Dad’s friends.
We will miss him dearly.
