Lois Marjory Smith

Smith, Lois Marjory nee Simms, born in Victoria, BC on April 24, 1947, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 13, 2024, at her home in Nanoose Bay, BC. Lois worked her entire career with BC Tel and later Telus as a businesswoman. A strong proponent of women's rights in the workplace throughout the 70s and 80s, she led by example. She was an avid book reader and loved gardening. An amazing cook, Lois enjoyed baking the most delicious cookies and then trying to hide them where her sons wouldn't think to look for them. With the City of Victoria in her heart and a lover of all things British, including TV and culture. Lois is predeceased by her husband William (aka Bill), mother Thelma, father Ralph, and brother Russell. She is survived by her children Darren and Rob (Marta), brothers Terry (Terri) and Ken, sister Jackie (Dave), as well as grandchildren Caroline, Daimen, Darren, Davina, Isla, and William (aka Billy), along with numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at Yates Memorial Services in Parksville on Friday, April 19, at 11:00 am. Much thanks to the VIHA Oceanside Home Support for the care they provided to Lois at home.
