Margaret Ann McKay

With deep love and gratitude, we announce the passing of Margaret “Marg” McKay, who left us peacefully in Parksville, B.C., on October 10th, in her 91st year.

Born and raised in Toronto, she is predeceased by her parents; Daniel & Mary O’Hare, and her 6 siblings. She built a beautiful life with her beloved husband, Don, to whom she was married to for 68 years; raising their two children, Jackie (Doug) and Dan, and later embracing her favorite role as “Nana” to Tim, Andy, and Caroline (Michael). She was also a cherished “mom” to her sons-in-law, Doug and Michael, whom she loved as her own.

Marg’s warmth touched everyone she met, especially the many friends she made through her church, golf, and community activities in Parksville. She lived with gratitude, curiosity, and faith, and her kindness left an imprint on all who knew her.

Marg is lovingly remembered by husband Don, her children, son in law, grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, & friends across Canada.

The family would like to thank the staff at Stanford Place, for their compassionate care of Marg during her brief time with them.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice in her memory.
