“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Renée Caulder. She fought hard over the past few years battling lung cancer. While her strength and will to fight are a huge part of who she was, this battle was not what defined her.
Renée grew up on the farm in Daysland, Alberta, where she learned to work hard and take care of each other. This is where her love for animals and nature began. She had many dogs, cats and other animals in her care throughout her years. Having the opportunity to work for and grow her own food in the garden would be a love that she continued for the rest of her life.
Renée spent the majority of her life living in and around Parksville, British Columbia. This is where her greatest impacts can be felt and still seen today. Renée worked tirelessly for the Society of Organized Services, which is responsible for supporting those in need in the local community. She genuinely cared for others and would give anything of herself if she felt it could help someone else out.
Renée had the type of laugh that would bring absolute joy to any room that she was in. She had a smile that would brighten your day and eyes that saw straight into your soul. She loved music and more importantly to dance, which she did so at any opportunity she got. She always made sure both friends and family were well fed and had a smile on their faces. Which was hard not to have when you were in her presence.
Renée was a Baba, Aunt, Sister, Wife and Mother to some, but no matter who you were in her life, she treated you like family. Her love will be felt for generations to come.
You are greatly missed by your loving husband Bob, and your sons Cory and Reef and all the family that you have created. We feel your loss deeply but know that you are now finally at rest. The energy that you exuded each day has now become one with the universe, and we will look to feel it each day that we still exist. Love you forever.”
