Richard was born on September 11, 1942, in Manchester, England to Stanley and Alice Allison, Richard was predeceased by his loving wife of 57 years, Jennifer, his parents and sisters-in-law Ellen, Ada, and Elsie. He is survived by his sister Janice (Rex) and sisters-in-law Jean (Stan) and Edna, and also his niece Valerie (Peter) who was as close as a sister-in-law.
In Richard’s early years he was very active in sports and excelled in both football and cricket. Later in life he developed a true passion for golf, spending much time on the course with his friend Pete. Richard had a very successful career as a steamfitter/pipefitter and fondly remembered his time serving on the union executive in the years leading up to his retirement.
Richard met the true love of his life, Jennifer, at the Church Youth Club and got married at Christ Church, Harpurhey, Manchester, in 1963. Richard's life from then on was devoted to his family. Together with their young family they emigrated to Canada to start a life of new adventures.
Richard developed a love of the outdoors and spent much time hiking, camping, hunting and fishing with his family and with lifelong friends, Gus and Reid.
Unknown to many, he was also a very talented artist and sculpturist and held a deep regard for the artisans of the 19th century.
Richard leaves behind his two sons, Peter and Gary (Inga), grandchildren Sarah (Tylor) and Ryan (Aly), great grandchildren Kira, Morgan, Korrie, Alaina, Harmony, and Declan, in addition, extended family Susan and Aimee along with many nieces and nephews in both England and Australia.
Richard lived a wonderful life and leaves us with no regrets into the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ.
