Richard "Dick" Frederick ABBOTT

He was born in Liverpool, NS, the son of the late Ruth and Richard G Abbott. He was the youngest of 2 siblings.  Richard married his childhood sweetheart, Patricia Anne Lundrigan. They adventured West to Vancouver Island in the late 50’s.

Dad started working at MacMillan Bloedel Alpulp Div. in the wood room and later worked as a tug boat operator until his retirement.  Dad loved the outdoors and enjoyed numerous fishing and hunting adventures with his sons, grandsons, and great grandsons.

He will be missed by his sister Barbara; cousin, Bobby Weagle; sons, Stephen (Chris), Brian (Muriel), Bob (Lulu) and Mike; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and he will be reunited with his beloved wife, Patricia.

The family would like to thank the staff at Royal Jubilee and WCGH hospitals, Palliative care team and home support for their compassionate care of Dad.

Cremation has taken place.   A Graveside Service will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
