HESS, ROBERT ALBERT
AUGUST 31, 2013
Bob was born to Albert and Bertha Hess on August 20, 1941. He passed away at the West Coast General Hospital on August 31, 2013, after a struggle with Cancer.
Bob is survived by his sisters – Barb (George) English, Bea (Steve) Hall, and his brother Art (Rie) Hess. He is also survived by his children – Kim Hess Torbert, Shane Hess, Nadine (Steve) Chatwin, Che (Brandy) Hopkins and Kara (Rob) Waddington and by his grandchildren – Deven, Zane, Zanaya, Zoey, Brock, Cody, Ireland, Kambria, Jaden, Brooklyn and Koen.
Bob’s first job as a young man was with the Forestry crew in Sproat Lake Division, next came the Rigging, but the Falling and Bucking was his real ambition. In 1964, he became a Scaler and got the chance to learn the trade. In 1966 Bob became a Faller. He liked this job, but an accident made a falling future impossible for him. He then landed a job in the Shop as Camp Handyman. He then started his own business (R.A. Hess Construction) doing renovations and building at least two beautiful homes. He was a master carpenter and took great pride in all of his work.
Bob loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He should have lived in the wilderness with his dogs, Tatum and Sophie (aka Wedgehead). His stories, humour and his twinkling blue eyes will be greatly missed by all.
Special thanks to Bill and Kathy Blake, Wade, Kori, Che, Brandy and Nadine.
There will be no service by request.
