

With great sorrow we announce the passing of Roberto (Rob) Pacheco in Qualicum Beach after a long struggle with Parkinson's disease. Rob was born in Victoria, BC to Antonio and the late Carolina Pacheco where he joined his sister Teresa and brother Tony. Rob grew up in Victoria attending Reynolds Secondary and later Camosun College where he earned his certification as an electrician. Rob went on to moving to Whistler to start an electrical contracting business with his business partner Lon. Eventually Rob settled in Squamish and started his family.
Rob was an enthusiastic golfer and enjoyed sharing his time on the course with his many friends. The diagnosis of Parkinson's came to Rob when he was only 41 years old. The struggle was long and difficult emotionally and physically changing his quality of life. Rob's family would like to express our deepest gratitude to his many healthcare providers, mental health workers and home support caregivers.
Rob is survived by his son Abe and daughter Rosemary along with their mother Kristen. Devastated by his loss is his father Antonio and his siblings Teresa (Bob), Tony (Maggie), nephew Brian (LeeAnna), niece Paris and great niece/nephew Charlotte and Elliot. Missed also by many long time friends. Predeceased by his mother and his nephew Jason.
A memorial celebration will be held in Parksville May 8th with a mass at 11:00 am Church of Ascension, 887 Wembley Road, followed by burial at Yates Cemetery, 1000 Allsbrook Road. Reception after in the Serenity room. Everyone is welcome to join the family. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Parkinson's Society of BC in honour of Rob's fight against this relentless disease.
