My abuelita and I had so many great memories while I was growing up and I’m so lucky to have spent so much time with her. From her giving me advice about friends and boys, to cooking for me and watching me, and rushing me to the hospital when I started to freak out! Lol she was definitely a character and always spoke her mind. I loved to listen to her read growing up and she would always wash my hair in the sink and I remember it always felt amazing! We would argue over computer time because she wanted to use the computer but of course I wanted to learn the lyrics to every song on YouTube. I will never forget her and I am blessed to have had her in my life as long as I did. I love you abuelita!

Growing up with my grandma she sure did have her own way of showing each grandchild how she loved them. One thing she did was whichever grandchild was in front of her at the moment, THAT was the favorite grandchild, lol but us grandkids know she loved all of us equally. So many memories from childhood to adulthood, I’ll forever cherish them. I love you grandma, till we meet again. Give grandpa and Andrew a big hug from us down here. 🤎

My grandmother, Amparo, was strong, creative, and deeply devoted to her family. She had a special way of showing love—through small, meaningful acts that stayed with you. For me, it was always a full belly and the joy of seeing her dance when she thought no one was watching.

Her love for her grandchildren showed up in the most thoughtful ways. When Najwa didn’t want to wash her hair, Grandma turned our kitchen into a little “spa,” gently washing her hair in the sink and making it feel special instead of difficult.

Some of my favorite memories are coming home from school to the smell of hot, fresh tacos waiting for me. She didn’t just share that love with family—she welcomed my friends the same way, and to this day, they still talk about her tacos. When she met my husband, RJ, for the first time, she danced with him in my mom’s garden. It was her quiet way of testing him—and thankfully, he passed.

Grandma showed her love in her own unique and beautiful ways, and I feel so lucky to have been on the receiving end of it. I love you, Grandma, and I miss you deeply. Thank you for everything you gave us.

Tía Amparo, your presence brought me so much joy, laughter, and unforgettable moments in my life. Some of my favorite memories with you are the times we spent together, laughing and gambling, enjoying every second as if nothing else in the world mattered. You had a way of making even the simplest moments feel special.

Though you are no longer here with us, your memory will live on in every a slot machine or casino I play in. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

May you rest easy, Tía Amparo. I love you always.
