Aracelys B Tabuena

Cela Tabuena, 92, of Pasadena, passed away November 21st, 2024. She was born in La Habana, Cuba on February 17th, 1932, to Maria Teresa Laserna and Arturo Rodriguez. She was married to the love of her life, Angel Y. Tabuena, for 41 beautiful years prior to his passing in 1991.

The couple settled in Galena Park, Texas to start their family. Cela owned and operated a Beauty Salon for several years before moving to Pasadena to be a full-time mother and homemaker. She was an active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe and St. Pius V. Catholic Churches. Cela loved playing games of all kinds, fishing, dancing, and Astros baseball. But her greatest joy came from just being Memaw to the grandchildren and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Maria Teresa Laserna and Arturo Rodriguez; brother, Jose “Pepe” Rodriguez; and sister, Georgina “Yoya” Nisayas.

Cela is survived by her five children, Theresa Watson and husband Thom of Crosby, TX; Lilly Leger and husband Darrell of Crosby, TX; Robert Tabuena and wife Judy of Houston, TX; Joseph Angel Tabuena and wife Carrie of Pasadena, TX; Celita Woerner and husband Rick of Houston, TX; eleven grandchildren, Jesika Vincent and husband Chad; Jason Leger and wife Amanda; Nathan Tabuena and Sara Ainsworth; Travis Tabuena and wife Renee; Steven Tabuena and wife Jenna; Trevor Tabuena and wife Sierra; Grace Tabuena and Ben Rhoden; Josh Tabuena and wife Jenny; Anthony Tabuena; Alex Woerner; Max Woerner; six great-grandchildren, Jake & Ella Vincent; Brooklin & Bree Leger; Jett Tabuena; Harrison Tabuena.

Cela was funny and loved to make others laugh. Though small in stature, she had a larger-than-life spirit. She will be missed by all who know and love her.

A visitation for Aracelys will be held Sunday, December 1, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Pasadena Funeral Chapel, 2203 PASADENA BLVD, PASADENA, TX 77502. A rosary service will occur Sunday, December 1, 2024 at 6:00 PM, 2203 PASADENA BLVD, PASADENA, TX 77502. A celebration of life will occur Monday, December 2, 2024 at 10:00 AM, 2203 PASADENA BLVD, PASADENA, TX 77502. A committal service will occur Monday, December 2, 2024 at 11:30 AM at Grand View Memorial Park, 8516 Spencer Hwy, Deer Park, TX 77536.
