Cathy Meyer was born in Japan on December 19, 1956, to Lewis Foley and Takako I. Foley. She passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, at her home in Montgomery, in the loving care of her husband, with the support of Three Oaks Hospice.
Cathy was fun-loving, hardworking, and a big personality in a tiny body. She built a career as a drywall finisher and was proud to follow in her grandfather’s footsteps, joining the painters’ union nearly 30 years after him. Her strong work ethic and pride in her craft were evident to all who knew her.
Her deep love of animals inspired her to start her own pet-sitting business, where she dedicated herself to caring for and nurturing beloved pets. Cathy’s compassion extended to all creatures—she shared her home over the years with dogs, cats, chickens, goats, snakes, bearded dragons, and even a skunk, just to name a few. She was especially devoted to her dogs and was an active member of the Border Terrier Club of America, where she formed many lasting friendships.
Cathy cherished time with her family and had a special way of bringing people together with laughter, warmth, and wonderful new recipes. Her presence made every gathering brighter.
She was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Hendricks.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bobby Meyer; her son, Brian Hendricks; her sisters, Cindy Drnevich and her husband Doug, and Caren Williams and her husband Billy; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins who loved her dearly. She will also be deeply missed by her extended community of friends and fellow members of the Border Terrier Club of America.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Cathy’s name to the American Cancer Society.
