

He was born in Houston, TX on March 9th, 1942 to Joe T. Jackson and Marcella Applegate-Jackson.
He was married to Patricia Y. Jackson for 55 years. Edward retired after 26 years from the Pasadena, Texas Police Department where he served as a Crime Scene Investigator. He was a member of Seaside Baptist Church in Galveston, and Spring Creek Fellowship Assembly of God. He attended church regularly and he loved the Lord with his whole heart and looked forward to being with Jesus in his last days.
He had a great passion for gardening, fishing, beach combing and animals of all kinds including the wild rabbits in the neighborhood and the birds that migrated through Galveston every year but he especially loved dogs.He liked to watch tv especially old westerns with John Wayne and cop shows like NCIS and CSI. He had a great love of family but his greatest loves were his daughters, granddaughter and great grandsons.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Brother Joe T. Jackson Jr., wife of 55 years Patricia Youngbloom-Jackson and daughter Carol Jackson-Scursatone.
He is survived by his daughter Stephanie Ruth Jackson, granddaughter Rebekah Ward-Arreola, her husband Eduardo Arreola, great-grandsons Kenai, Koda, and Orion. Son-in-law Dan Scursatone, granddaughter Sarah Scursatone and great-grandchildren Wyatt Barrett and Ali Barrett, nieces Melinda Jackson, Tracy Jackson, and nephew Jeff Jackson.
In lieu of flowers please donate to the SPCA or your favorite animal shelter. He always said rescued dogs were the best.
Inurnment at Houston National Cemetery is scheduled for Monday, April 18 at 1:30PM located at 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive Houston, Texas 77038.
