Born on December 5, 1962, Eddie lived a life marked by resilience, laughter, and a deep love for family and the outdoors. A skilled welder by trade and a natural builder by instinct, he could fix or fabricate just about anything. He was known for collecting odds and ends- tools, parts, and treasures others might overlook- with a vision of fixing them up and giving them new life. He was happiest near the water or with family- fishing, whistling, laughing, and playing his harmonica with a grin that could light up a room. Eddie had a playful way of showing love through giving- leaving gifts or thoughtful surprises for others- finding joy simply in knowing he had brightened someone’s day.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Boley Nixon; his sister, Tina Nixon; and his brother, Barry Nixon. He shared a close bond with all his siblings, especially his sister Kathy, who survives him and carries forward their shared memories.
In 1987, Eddie married Cindy Nixon. Together, they raised four children- Breanna Horsey and Brandon Brand, Cindy’s children from a previous marriage whom Eddie loved and raised as his own, and two daughters they welcomed together, Misty Nixon and Mandy Nixon. Though Eddie and Cindy parted ways in 2004, the family they built remained a source of pride and joy throughout his life.
Eddie is survived by his sister Kathy Nixon Tucker; his daughters Misty Nixon, Mandy Nixon, and Breanna Horsey; his son Brandon Brand; five grandchildren- Hunter Tadlock, Hannah McKinney, Amelia Horsey, Jaxon Brand, and Violet Stevenson; and his beloved nieces and nephews: Amy Vicenik, Cristy Nelson, Devin Nelson, Justin Tucker, and Wesley Tucker. His legacy lives on in their laughter, their stories, and the many ways they carry forward his spirit.
Eddie will be remembered for his craftsmanship, his compassion, his love for animals, and his uncanny ability to always know the best fishing spots. He leaves behind a legacy of love, grit, and good times- and a family who will miss him deeply.
A celebration of Eddie’s life will be held on November 23, 2025, in Huntsville, Texas, where friends and family will gather to honor his memory and share the stories that made him unforgettable.
