Gloria lived a life full of love, compassion, and dedication to her family and community. Since 1975, she resided in La Porte, TX, where she built a loving home and made lasting memories. Upon the union of Gloria and Orris Eugene Frazier in 1986, she resided in Morrow, OH until 1996. Gloria was a devoted foster mother and proudly adopted two children, Ronald Lawrence Frazier and Rhonda Elizabeth Davis. She was also the step-mother to Colin Frazier. Gloria was a loving grandmother to Isaiah Christopher Johnson, Maya Elizabeth DeConge, Aubrey Wolfe, Graycen Frazier, and Gavin Frazier, and a cherished great-grandmother to Cora and Zaina Wolfe. Born to Oton Guerrero Sr. and Manualla Salinas Guerrero, Gloria was the baby of 11 siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Orris, her brothers Fernando (Fay) Guerrero, Arnoldo Guerrero, and Joaquin "Jake" Guerrero, and her sisters Teresa Frias (Juan), Romanita "Mona" Van Wyke (Arthur), Tomasa Guerrero, Julie Lawson (Rex), Hilda Guajardo (Jerry), and Oton "Tony" Guerrero Jr (Emma). She is survived by her sisters Oralia "Mary" Chemin, sisters-in-law Anna Guerrero and Arlene Guerrero, her two children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Gloria was a trailblazer, working as a forklift operator at Brown and Root Industrial Services during a time when few women were employed in such male-dominated industries. Her tenacity and strength were evident in all she did. She enjoyed dancing, shopping, watching her favorite "stories" on Telemundo, and savoring good food (her favorite being a “Whataburger Jr.” with onion rings). She adored her two dogs, Chico and Frazier Jr., and was known for her vibrant social life. A true social butterfly, Gloria was always willing to help others, often stopping on the side of the road to lend a hand. She was fiercely independent and a feminist ahead of her time. Gloria's creativity, dependability, and compassionate nature were hallmarks of her character. She never missed her grandchildren's events, always offering unwavering support. Often, you could catch her sitting on her front porch rocking chair conversating with friends about life as grandparents, community events, and getting frustrated at cars that passed through too fast. Gloria Guerrero Frazier leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and community spirit. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Memorial services to celebrate the life of Gloria will be at Houston National Cemetery on Monday, July 22, 2024 at 12:45 p.m. where she will be laid to rest with her husband, Orris Eugene Frazier.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to an advocacy organization of your choice for women, children or animals in her memory.
