José Argelio Rodríguez, Sr., 61, of Pasadena, Texas, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. A loving husband, dedicated father, cherished grandfather, and highly skilled craftsman, José leaves behind a legacy built on integrity, service, and a deep devotion to his family.
José was born on April 16, 1964, in Miguel Alemán, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to Martha Sarabia and the late Avilio Rodríguez.
His commitment to service began with the United States Navy, where he served honorably for four years, followed by an additional 4 years in the United States Navy Reserves.
On April 26, 1986, he married the love of his life, Irasema Silva, and together they built a beautiful life and family that was his greatest source of pride.
A highly skilled and multi-talented tradesman, José spent his professional career working in the refineries of Pasadena, where his hard work and expertise were well-regarded. Yet, his true passion lay at home, where he was a gifted carpenter. He loved working on wood projects, a testament to his craftsmanship and patience.
José is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 40 years, Irasema Silva Rodríguez. He was a proud father to three sons: José Argelio Jr. (38), Luis Gerardo (37), and Noe Abraham (24). His greatest joy in recent years was his role as grandfather to his four grandchildren: Lyzander (14) and Zenevieve (11), children of José Jr.; and Luis Gerardo II (11) and Mia Alani (6), children of Luis Gerardo. He is also survived by his loving mother, Martha Sarabia, and his siblings: Avilio, Rebecca, Martha, Jesus Ariel, Juan Abelardo, Alifonso, Marilu, and Maribel.
He was preceded in death by his father, Avilio Rodríguez.
