Mrs. Karen Lee Maynard

November 4, 1955 – November 21, 2024

Karen L. Maynard, 69, passed peacefully into her heavenly home on November 21, 2024, in Memphis, Tennessee. Born on November 4, 1955, in Dickinson, Texas, Karen was the beloved daughter of Lawrence and Helen Scarcella.

Karen dedicated 30 years of service to Continental-United Airlines, where she built cherished friendships and touched countless lives. Alongside her husband, Terry, she also shared her creative talents by running a successful wedding decorating business. Together, they brought beauty and joy to many special occasions.

Karen’s faith and love for her church community were central to her life. She and her husband served as leaders in the senior ministry at The Church Triumphant, where they provided inspiration and guidance to many.

She was preceded in death by her husband Terry, her parents Helen and Lawrence, her brother Larry, her sister Sharon, and her stepmother Beth.

Karen’s legacy lives on through her loving family: her stepson Brian Maynard and his wife Kristi; her three grandchildren, Marissa (Chandler), Loralei, and Carter; her devoted sisters, Terry, Tiffany (Dan), and Melissa as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Karen also leave behind Hannah and David who she and her husband Terry took in as if they were their own grandchildren many years ago.

Karen will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her compassionate spirit, and her ability to bring beauty into the lives of those around her.
