Leona Marie Owens

.Leona Marie Owens, 86, of Pasadena, Texas, entered into eternal rest on July 7, 2015. She was born in Weatherford, Texas on December 29, 1928 to John and Clive Bielss. Leona was a long time member of South Main Baptist Church in Pasadena. She worked in banking for Western Electric Credit Union. Leona was a devoted wife, mother and friend. She had a zest for life. Leona was a member of the Red Hat Club, and enjoyed so to experiment with adventurous cooking, working in her flower gardens, relaxing with a good book, and completing cross stitch projects.

Leona is preceded in death by her parents, John and Clive Bielss; her husband of 68 years, Gerald Dale Owens; and her son, Jack David Owens.

She is survived by her son, John Mark Owens and his wife Betty; grandchildren, Lizabeth Duke and fiancé Anthony Nicosia, and Anthony Swartz; great grandchildren, Scott Duke, Matthew Duke, William Swartz, and Mary Alice Swartz; as well as a large extended church family and friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation at Pasadena Funeral Chapel on Monday, July 13, 2015 from 9:00 am – 11:00 am, with a funeral service to begin at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at 1:00 pm in Forest Park East Cemetery, Webster, TX.
