Mary Lucille Nelson

Preceeded in death by her Parents, Husband Oliver Nelson, Granddaughter, Debbie Thomas Finney, and Brothers, Douglas and Clyde Grisham.

Survived by her eight children: Daughter, Margaret Thomas, Daughter Linda Holub and her husband Ed, Son Thomas Nelson and his wife Rose, Daughter Ruby Fagan and her husband Buddy, Son Tim Nelson and his wile Michele, Daughter Betty Nelson, Son Dennis Marion Nelson and his wife Janet and her son Bennie Nelson and his wife Kathy, twenty grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren eight great-great-grandchildren, Sister Pauline Calhoun, Brother Joe Grisham and his wife Pauline, numerous nieces and nephews and a multitude of great friends.

Mary Nelson graduated from Redland High School, Lufkin, Texas, graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing, Galveston, Texas and served as Second Lieutenant in the United States Army Nursing Corps, World War II. She was a resident of Pasadena, Texas since 1946 when she arrived as a new bride. She was a faithful member of Allendale Baptist Church for sixty-five years. She spent thirty plus years serving in nursery and pre-school ministry. Her later years serving in telephone and card ministry, she was Assistant Activities Director of Vista Continuing Care Center, Pasadena, Texas for ten years. She also worked as a senior In-home care giver for many years. She was an active member of Pasadena Singing Seniors for the past thirteen years.
