Robert Keith Diamond Jr.

We witness now the passing of Robert Keith Diamond, Jr., beloved husband of Sandy Diamond, Daddy to Pam, grandfather to Andres and Virginia Diamond-Ortiz and great grandpa to little Andres and, his namesake, baby Nicholas Robert Diamond-Ortiz. He was the adored Uncle Robert to his extended family of nephews, nieces unto the great- greats. He was “Bob” to his many friends and co-workers at Du Pont, La Porte where he worked as an electrician and then supervisor for 37 years and where he helped found and became an officer of the plant chapter of District 50 Mine Workers. He was a graduate of Pasadena High School and served in Panama in the Army Air Corp during WWII. He married the love of his life, Sandy, and during their sixty six years of marriage they became world travelers together. A generous and exceptionally unselfish man, Robert was an autodidact who educated himself in history and literature by lifelong reading. A thoughtful individual who was also a terrific outdoors man, he had grown up on and loved the southeast Texas coastal prairie for its abundance of game and fish. He had a special gift for meticulously growing vegetables and roses. Respected by all who met him, he was the definition of a good man. We wish all his many friends to know that his death was as noble and decent as his life. He is survived by Wayne and Mary Sager, John Michael and Robin Sager, Jacqueline Sager; Deborah and David Wisenbaker, Shannon and David Dawson, Dillon, Brody and Naomi; Kari and Michael Glass, Kyndal and Kendrik Johnson; Don and Barbara Sager, Jessica Antoline, Gianni and Ava; Keith, Sheena and baby Cole Sager; Cindy and Bryan Corbell, Cody Corbell, Ashley and Valdmar Luna and Mia; Leonard and Marsha Fitzwater, Anice and Bob Rayburn, Keith and Teri Fitzwater, Pat Rison; Robert and Yolanda Abdo, Robert Jr., Rene, and Joseph. Visitation will be at Pasadena Funeral Chapel Tuesday at 1:00PM, Funeral Service will follow at 2:00PM. Interment Forest Park East. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sunset UMC.
