October 28, 1935 – October 13, 2025
To all who knew her, Rosemary Cuccia Carite was more than a Mom, Maw Maw, Momo, Grandma, GG, and Aunt Rosemary — she was the heart and soul of our family. She touched the lives of everyone she met with her boundless love, infectious laughter, and unwavering strength.
Born on October 28, 1935, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Rosemary was the eldest of three children of Luke and Rosalie Tramonte Cuccia. After graduating from high school, she married the love of her life, Raymond Albert Carite, Sr., and together they raised three children. In the early 1960s, the family relocated to the Houston/Pasadena area, while establishing their new home and business, the family valued food, laughter, fellowship, and friends.
Rosemary created a home overflowing with warmth and joy. She loved shopping, dancing, visiting casinos to play the slots, and she expressed her creativity through beautiful oil paintings. She had an incredible sense of style and fun — a true Diva. Her makeup was always perfectly applied before leaving the house, and she never missed her weekly beauty shop appointment for a wash and set to achieve her signature “Golden Sheen” perfectly styled bouffant and a fresh manicure.
Rosemary’s legacy continues through her cherished family: her daughter Sue Perez and son-in-law Chip Perez; her son Richard Carite, Sr. and daughter-in-law Julie Carite. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren Stacey Perez, Shawn Perez Rushing and husband Chris Rushing, Chrisian Pettetier and husband Harsah Lammata, Josh Baker, Angelo Carite and wife Nefy Carite, Candice Kotz and husband Dillion Kotz, and Luke Carite, as well as by her nine beloved great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her sister Kathleen Cuccia Burns and husband Van Burns; brother Dom Cuccia; brother-in-law Sam Ellezy; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her beloved husband Raymond Carite, Sr.; her son Raymond Carite, Jr.; grandson Richard Carite, Jr.; nephew Nick Cuccia; and sisters-in-laws Shelia Cuccia and Pat Ellezy.
Rosemary passed away peacefully on Monday, October 13, 2025, in Pasadena, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your favorite charity — or as Rosemary would have said, “I don’t need anything. Just keep your money and spend it on the kids and grandkids.”
