

Anna Jane (Janie) Peterson of Paso Robles went to be with the Lord on April 26, 2014. She was 69 years old. Janie was born in January 1945 to Barton and Freda Peterson and spent her entire life in the Paso Robles area. A 1962 graduate of Paso Robles High School, she earned her teaching credential from Biola College in Los Angeles, California. Before retiring in 2003, Janie was honored for her distinguished thirty-four year career as a fifth grade teacher in Corcoran, California. She was well known for her beautiful soprano voice, which she used in service to the Lord for almost six decades while a member of the First Baptist Church of Paso Robles. Everyone who knew her loved Janie for her caring and generous spirit. She was preceded in death by father Barton, mother Freda, and nephew Stephen Peterson. She is survived by brother Larry Peterson of Madison, WI; sister Marilyn Littlefield and brother Wayne Peterson both of Paso Robles. Janie leaves four nieces, three nephews, and twelve great nieces and nephews, whom she dearly loved. Her memorial service is 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 8, 2014, at First Baptist Church, 17th and Park Streets, Paso Robles, after which she will be laid to rest at Templeton District Cemetery. Following a brief interment ceremony, everyone is invited to join the family for a luncheon back at the church,.
