Kenny was born in Wheeler County, Shamrock, Texas to Jim and Susan Reynolds in December 1919. Kenny was the youngest of nine children. After living in Texas, Kenny moved to Los Angeles and enlisted in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was enlisted from December 12, 1941, to October 26, 1945. Following the Navy, Kenny spent time raising his children while working for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power as a supervisor. Kenny worked there for 35 years and retired at age 58.
In 1976 Ken and Earlene moved to Paso Robles, a place that they loved to visit. Living in Paso Robles gave them the ability to do all of the things that they loved: fishing, gardening and working outdoors. Kenny worked as a ranch hand on the Dresser Ranch after retirement and loved working with horses. Kenny was also a dog trainer and raised many Lab puppies to become champion hunting dogs. In addition to his hobbies on the Ranch, Kenny loved to golf and was excellent at it. His very special group of golf buddies (Bob Ahl, Bob Atkinson, Jerry Earwood, Paul Warnke, George Phillips and Gene Ehlers) said he would always at least shoot his age every round. Most of all Kenny loved his church and all of the friends he had there. We will all miss Kenny for his wit and charm.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Earlene Reynolds. Kenny is survived by his children: Jim Reynolds, Patsy Mejia, Ronald Reynolds, Michael Reynolds, Julie (Jeff) Carroll and Jeff (Sheila) Johnson. He is also survived by his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Special thanks to the care of Judy Lewis for her love and support, Wilshire Hospice and the staff at Sydney Creek in San Luis Obispo.
Arrangements under the direction of Kuehl-Nicolay Funeral Home, Paso Robles, CA.
