JW Phillips JW Phillips was born in Texas to Rainer and Ola Mae Phillips. JW passed away on January 24, 2017, at the age of 73.
He met Bertha in Paso Robles and they married in January 1970. JW's love will continue to grow through Bertha, his wife of 47 years; their children Jay and his wife Michale; and grandchildren Jacob and Natalee; and Michael and his wife Andrea. He will be missed by his siblings: Joyce Douglas and husband Norman, Jeannie Phillips, Leroy Phillips, Otis Phillips and wife Kathy and Barbara Allen; and all his nieces and nephews.
JW was always a well-dressed gentleman who gave you that much needed smile and friendly wave. He was a friend to many and stranger to none. Neighbors and friends were always greeted with a friendly Texas "Hello." He had quite a sense of humor and enjoyed sharing bits of knowledge and little unknown facts about numerous subjects.
He worked for Borkey Farms for nearly 30 years. He enjoyed coffee shop chats, gardening, planting flowers, reading, watching old westerns, studying the weather, and rooting for his team the Dallas Cowboys. JW was an active parent with the local Boy Scouts, Troop 60 and their fundraising BBQ's. He was a wood craftsman in his retirement years and will be missed by his friends and family.
