December 19, 2023, at the age of 61. Randy and Jennifer were driving home from a cruise
vacation when he suffered sudden cardiac arrest and with his soulmate Jen by his side, Randy
bid farewell to this world. His passing has left his wife and six children heartbroken.
Born on September 8, 1962, in Paso Robles, CA, Randy was a true Virgo. His journey began at
War Memorial Hospital, where he was welcomed by his parents Karen Littlefield and Garland
Fortenberry. Raised by his grandparents Anita and "Edwin" Gene Machado in San Miguel,
Randy spent summers with his mom in Washington, creating memories that would last a
lifetime. His bond with his granny was something special, filled with love, respect, and
admiration.
Graduating from Paso Robles High School in 1980, Randy worked for Western Auto in Paso
and with his gift of gab and trustworthy demeanor, he became a top-notch car salesman for
Pete Johnston at the mere age of 21. And those pretty blue eyes of his probably sealed the
deal! Randy's talents didn't stop there - he became a certified scuba diver and even soared as a
pilot before the age of 21. Talk about reaching new heights!
Randy's knack for real estate was evident from an early age. At 18, he purchased his first piece
of land in Geneseo, and by 21, he was already diving into the world of rentals in San Miguel.
The real estate game became his lifelong passion, one that he pursued alongside his partner in
life,Jen.
Randy had two sons he loved dearly with his first wife; Cameron and Justin McNamee. Both
boys a lot like their dad sharing his mechanical mind and kind, easygoing nature.
In 1986, Randy embarked on a career at the California Men's Colony. For 26 years, he served
and retired a Correctional Sergeant, making lasting friendships. It was there that he crossed
paths with Jennifer, and their love story began to unfold. Despite the skeptics, Randy embraced
Jennifer's four children as his own, becoming an extraordinary second dad to Grace, Jake,
Emma, and Sam Music. Although not born to Randy they too share many of Randy’s traits and
feel lucky to have had him in their life.
Randy and Jennifer's love knew no bounds. They were inseparable, exploring over 40 islands,
sailing on countless cruises, and falling head over heels for Maui, where they also laid down
roots. On January 10, 2010, Randy and Jennifer tied the knot, coinciding with his mom's
birthday. They were excitedly planning their 14th wedding anniversary and a vow renewal
ceremony. Randy never missed a chance to express his love for Jennifer and she considered
herself the luckiest person in the world to have him by her side.
Jen will miss Randy every minute of every day for the rest of her life.
Always true to his word, Randy promised to return to Jennifer even after death, with hummingbirds serving as his heavenly messengers. Keep an eye
out for those little fluttering reminders!
Randy's heart was as big as they come - loyal, brave, and overflowing with knowledge gathered
from a life well-lived. If something was broken, he could fix it. If something needed building, he
was the go-to guy. Randy's love for the water knew no bounds, whether it was free diving,
swimming, snorkeling, or scuba diving. And let's not forget his passion for scoring the best deals
and being the table tennis champion among his friends. He truly had a zest for life!
In his final months, Randy faced immense loss, including the devastating loss of his beloved
Labradors in the Lahaina Fire and a collision with a vehicle in Cambria. Despite these
challenges, Randy remained positive, a rock for his wife, and an inspiration to all who knew him.
Randy leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. He is survived by his wife Jennifer, his sons
Cameron McNamee (and wife Heather) and Justin McNamee, Jakob and Samuel Music and his
daughters Grace and Emma Music. He also leaves behind his brothers Bert (and wife Paula),
