My Mom was the foundation that our family was built on.  She was a caring, loving, honest (sometimes too honest), principled, compassionate woman.  Truly, a person of great quality and character.  Through all of lives adversities she never wavered from her core values and principles.  

My Mom was one of those most selfless people I have ever encountered.  She literally would give you the shirt off of her back, if she felt you needed it or even if you just wanted it.  I was always careful about stating that I wanted/needed something around my Mom, because if it was within her capacity to provide this want/need she would make sure it was fulfilled.  In today's world there are few people that genuinely consider the interest of others ahead of their own, and my Mom certainly did this.  

I am so thankful for being her Son and for being blessed with every opportunity I have had to be in her company.  I will endeavor to live my life as good, pure and selfless as my Mother did.  I was bettered by having known my Mom, the world was bettered by her being a part of it and I am certain Heaven is now a better place too.  

My beloved Sharon,
  Honey, I grieve and try to cope with the fact that God called you home so soon.  There were so many things we wanted to do with our kids, grand kids, relatives and friends .  There was that trip to Alaska that you often spoke of (a trip you will never make), the promised trip to the Grand Canyon (a place you never saw) and the countless chances to see more of our grand kids' activities. I miss you!  However, I do draw strength because you are with our everlasting Father.  Yet, I must tell my heart that when I ask why,I know that God knows best and I have to deal with the fact you are no longer with me.  I do thank God for each of the 53 years we were together.  Our love affair began long ago in Pierre, S.D.
  It was the summer of 1964.  You had just moved to Pierre to live with your father and his wife.  We met and began to see each other on a regular basis the rest of the summer followed by my return to college.  In 1965, I asked you Sharon Kay Shultz to become my wife and we were married that July 3rd.  We were happy and prospering for six months until Vietnam happened.  I volunteered for the Air Force and began active duty in March of 1966, an event that changed our lives forever.  You were three months pregnant and ready to add to our family of two. Our son Lane was born in September and we added Amy five years later followed by Joel and Aric.  At times, our lives were hectic as our Air Force assignments required frequent moves which resulted in the stress that accompanied each move.  You always were able to pack up, move and then to make our homes beautifully complete in record time. The moves were hard on our family, but you adjusted quickly and were soon surrounded by friends. 
  Honey,I was gone so much of the time that you were forced to handle all of the family's responsibilities. However, you were more than ready to meet each new situation as you continued to raise our children.  You insisted on high moral standards, great citizenship and rock solid work habits.  Thanks mostly to you (my wonderful wife) we have four high functioning, solid citizens who in turn are bringing up equally solid grandchildren.
  Our lives were never easy, but we grew closer with the passing years and got to the best years that spring night you truly accepted Jesus into your heart.  You trusted wholly in our Savior and His peace came over you
  Now you are gone!  How do I feel?  Grateful for having you and also greatly missing you.  I will continue to long for you and I will continue to miss being able to lovingly hold you.  I love you my SHAKAY.

We met dear Sis Middleton while we were on vacation to be with our dear friends, among them, Pastor and Sis Webb. I spoke with Sis Middleton for only a few minutes after the service but she was so sweet and friendly that we became friends on Facebook. I was sorry to hear about her passing but we so happy to say that I was able have her for a friend. Prayers sent for friends and family.

I have been searching for the words to try to describe what Mom meant to me, and there are just no words to express how I felt about her. She was my mother in law, true...but in my heart she was my mother.  From the  very beginning she and I had a very strong connection that quickly became a deep love and admiration. She was warm, caring, thoughtful,  loving  and welcomed both myself and my daughter into this family.  She became my dearest friend. I was always excited to be around Mom and would often invite her whenever we were having  gatherings at our house because our friends all loved her too! Mom of course would "interrogate" everyone she met,  but she was truly interested in their lives and wanted to know them.  She remembered even the smallest insignificant details and was never at a loss for conversation.  When we would host a get together,  friends would ask me if my mother in law was going to be there. They wanted to spend time with her too... plus,  she would inevitably tell some childhood story about Joel that made everyone laugh!
Mom and  I spent a lot of time together, both of us are social people so everywhere we went we ended talking with people and often drew them into our excursion.  If we were getting pedicures  or shopping we would always end up striking up conversations with random people,  and outsiders thought  our new "friends" were actually with us.   If we were at a restaurant, Mom would know everything about our server's life before the meal ended, and was more often than not giving some sort of advice. If we were at a sporting event,  she would ALWAYS  befriend someone, and before we knew it she would once again know every detail of their life. I think Mom lived by that saying "Strangers are just friends waiting to happen", she truly never met a stranger, her world was full of friends. She would always tell everyone to  "have a blessed day".   All of her days were precious and blessed to her and she wanted everyone else's to be as well.  She was genuinely sincere in wishing that for others.
I used to tell Mom that she was the epitome of what a mother should be.  She adored every one of her children, but she would be the first to tell them if they were wrong. She was extremely supportive and protective, but realistic and honest.  She was a true mother to me. She always knew when I needed her, she would just get a feeling and text me.  She always knew when something was wrong , just one look at me and she knew, even if I tried to convince her everything was fine, she wouldn't give up until she figured it out. There was no hiding anything from her, she just instinctively knew all. She was always there to celebrate the good times and  talk me through the bad.  I always felt like she was in my corner and was there for me even if it was to tell me that I needed to make a change. Like I said,  she was  realistic and honest and never sugar coated the truth. If something needed to be said,  she said it. As everyone well knows,  her hugs said it all. They were long and heartfelt. She could make the whole day better with a hug.
As a grandmother,  she couldn't have been more proud. She showed up at every sports event and school function that she could. It was important to her to have a strong presence in their lives. Often times this meant leaving Paso Robles before 6 am to make a 2 hour drive to get to Grandparent's Day Mass at school by 8 am, or sitting in the blazing sun for multiple soccer games , crowded gyms with hard seats for basketball and volleyball games,  standing for hours watching Halloween costume parades, and stifling hot auditoriums for dance recitals.  She never wanted to miss a thing,  and I know her  grandkids will cherish those memories.
Dad would often make the drive back to Paso after 10 pm because Mom and I were either out shopping until the stores closed, or couldn't stop talking!! I appreciate him for always making sure that she and I got to spend entire days together. He never complained no matter how late it was,  he would just remind Mom that it was a 2 hour drive home...then she would say something sarcastic  about how it's always been 2 hours and nothing had changed.  Mom had a lot of marriage advice, after nearly 52 years of showing how it's done, who wouldn't listen to her??  
I am grateful to both Mom and Dad  for raising my husband to be honest, hardworking, respectful, and loyal.  He is generous, loving and so sarcastically funny.  One of the first things I loved about him was how much he loved and respected his mother.  You can tell  a lot about someone by how they treat their family.  
When Mom got sick, she was strong and at peace because she knew God had a plan for her.  She would often put life's challenges into God's hands and she handled this no differently.  She always put everyone else first and cared more about how we were all doing than worrying about herself.  Every time that I visited her she would tell me that everything was going to be okay. I would tell her that it had to be,  I could not be without her. She prepared me for this time when she couldn't be with me.   She gave so much love, advice and wisdom .  She is always with me telling me that I am braver than I believe, stronger than I seem and smarter than I think.   There will never be anyone else in the world like her,  I loved her deeply and I will never stop missing her.

As I've been reflecting on Mom's life and what she meant to me the last couple of weeks, I wanted the opportunity to spend a few moments reminding everyone just how great she was.  

Something about Mom just seemed to put people at ease.  In reading through the various guest book entries on the tribute site, I learned just how much she helped so many people through their life's crises.  She had a way of listening to people, figuring out what's going on, and telling them what they need to hear.  I think it's because of this that us kids have always been very connected to her whether we lived close or not.  In my own experience, when life has thrown me some curve balls, I leaned heavily on Mom to help me get back to center.  I always knew that if I called her, she and I could talk through just about anything.  I know the same is true for my siblings and I would bet it's true for her many friends and other family members.

Mom made friends everywhere she went.  She just seemed to draw people in.  With four kids participating in sports pretty much year-round, much of our time as a young family was spent at the fields.  I recall being at my sibling's games and sitting in the stands.  I would say pretty much without fail, Mom would strike up a conversation with someone and by game's end, she would have yet another friend.  As her grandkids started to play sports, we saw it happen all over againincluding the time she tried to play matchmaker for Grace at one of Claire's games. 

When I was in middle school, Mom worked as a lunchtime supervisor for the school.  Mom would walk around the campus and make sure everyone was staying out of trouble.  While doing that, she would have a group of kids who followed her around and talked with her each day.  It was clear they all saw something special in her and wanted to be around her.  

Mom always had a curious (if not downright nosey) spirit.  Whenever I brought someone around Mom to meet her for the first time, I used to tell them to be prepared to play 20 Questions.  In truth, 20 may have been a little bit of an understatement.  Wanting to get down to nitty gritty, Mom would pepper people with question after question.  When she responded with a hmm, it meant another question was about to be fired away.  Though I always sort of found it comical, I always knew it was because Mom really wanted to know someone.  She would take their answers in and remember themthis was just the first step in building a real relationship with people.  Mom didn't seem to have much use for acquaintancesshe wanted the good stuff.

Mom was fiercely protective of her family.  I can recall a couple of instances where she showed me just how much.  The first was when I was in middle schoolprobably the 7th grade.  I had a close group of friends in our neighborhood and, boys being boys, we had some choice nicknames for each other we used from time to time.  One day as we were leaving for our walk to the bus, one of my buddies said something disparaging to me loud enough for Mom to hear it inside the house.  It wasn't but a few seconds when mom came flying out the door (in her nightgown no less) and stopped us in our tracks.  Mom gave my friend a stern talking to (to say the least) and although I was quite embarrassed at the time, it made me feel as though our Mom had our back at all times.

Another time I can recall Mom taking care of things was when I was working at Carl's Jr. in high school.  Each day at the end of our shift, our till was checked and if things didn't balance, we got written up.  It was well known in the store that if you were off $10 or more it meant being shown the door.  Well, on this particular day, I was exactly $10 short.  Our manager wasn't working that shift, so I went home assuming I had worked my last day on the job.  When I got home and Mom saw how obviously distraught I was, she proceeded to get my manager on the phone and have a long discussion with him.  I wasn't privy to all that was said, but I can tell you I continued to work at the store and even recall my Manager telling me how special my mother was.  

Mom taught us so much.  Some with words, some with action and much just by observation.  Loyalty, work ethic, dedication, punctuality, humility, valuing what we have and taking care of it are just a few things that I know we learned from her.  

Mom was a fantastic grandmother too.  I always thought she was the prototypical grandmaeven looked the part.  As I looked back through some pictures of her with her grandkids, I saw the absolute pride and joy they gave her.  I know all her grandchildren and her great grandchild loved her very much and cherished the time they spent with her.  

Mom was one of those people that just seemed to be good at everything.  If you wanted to know how to cook something, she had a great recipe for it.  Stain in the carpetno problem.  Fix some clothingdone in a flash.  When she started a job, it was just a matter of time before she had mastered the work and advanced to a higher position.  

Mom always knew how to make a house a home.  Living in military housing for much of her life, Mom was given a basic shell most of the time.  Many times, there was no flooring, no window coveringspretty much what you can imagine the military thought we needed.  Mom would make window coverings, work with Dad to paint walls, lay down carpet, apply wallpaperpretty much anything that it took to make us feel comfortable.  Of course, this all came after she spent days cleaning a house that was already supposed to be clean when we received itbut it wasn't clean to her standards.  

Mom was a great cook.  Many of you here have had the pleasure of eating something she made.  She took joy in making sure everyone was able to have their favorites whenever she could.  On a holiday, like Thanksgiving, we would have a massive spread that she spent days preparing.  When I would ask Mom why she just didn't stick with the normal staples, she would proceed to list off how Dad likes this, Amy likes that, Lane like another thing, etc.  Making your favorites was just another way for Mom to show those she cared about how much she loved them.

Every year, Mom would spend hours over a very hot stove making her hard candy at Christmastime.  She would make batch after batch after batch.  I remember watching her and Dad make it as a kid and just being in awe of the process.  The past couple of years, when Mom's health hasn't been so good, I assumed she would stop making the candy, but it was just too important to her.  So, she brought in some recruits to help.  Making the candy was a way for her to spread holiday spirit and I'm glad our family could help her continue that tradition.

Mom was a selfless person.  She knew sacrifice and rarely put herself first.  When we were kids, she always made sure we had what we needed.  If that meant taking on a less desirable job or working more hours, she did what she had to do.  Anything for her family.

Almost two years ago, we celebrated Mom & Dad's 50th wedding anniversary.  The day started with a family picture that included all of her kids and almost all of her grandkids.  Mom had been hoping to have a large family picture taken again someday, so I know we made their anniversary special right out of the gate.  After the pictures were taken, we all went to Lane's home at Lake Nacimiento to have a party.  At the party, we were able to celebrate their love and partnership.  Dad and Mom were truly thatpartners.  Looking back at pictures from that day, you can see how much love and admiration they had for each other and how proud she was of her family.  

Last year we were blessed to have Aric and his family move to California.  Aric spent a few months here before Kristi and the kids were able to come, so he was able to make up for some lost time with Mom.  Another great thing is we could have some special family times last year.  4th of July, Thanksgiving and Christmas were a few occasions where almost the entire family was together and I know Mom cherished those days.  More than anything, Mom wanted to have her whole family together.  Looking back, I am so grateful we were able to spend that time with her.  

The thing I think about most when I think about Mom are her hugsMom was a world-class hugger.  I know I am not alone when I say a hug from Mom was something to look forward to.  When she embraced you, you could just feel the sincerity of it and instantly knew you were loved.  That is something specialsomething I am sure most everyone in this room would attest tosomething we will all miss.  

Although she was certainly taken from us too soon, I believe we are all better off having had Mom in our lives.  Mom will be forever in my heart and always in my thoughts.

My mom was an amazing woman. A woman with a big caring heart, full of advice and able to meet any challenge head on.  She readily took on new experiences including jobs and mastered each and every one of them. There was one particular position my mom held where she  worked with people with serious mental illnesses. Part of her job was to drive them to business locations and to fill honor candy boxes and then collect the money.  She worked hard with her clients so that they eventually were able to go into the businesses and complete the job all by themselves.  Much more importantly, she was the first supervisor to ever take her people to restaurants for coffee breaks. Always defending her clients, she quickly cut off any snide remarks made by the restaurant help or customers. That socialization experience greatly increased the confidence of her people and resulted in some of them venturing out in the evenings to restaurants by themselves. When mom left that position, the tears flowed freely at a party her clients held for her. How can you explain it?  She just had this way about her that attracted people like a magnet. There was never a question about who was in charge. BUT, she was never judgmental or critical of others, she was just a strong sincere, loving person. The welfare of her family always came first! When my dad retired from the Air Force, my brothers and I ended up scattered in different states. Mom's ultimate wish was to have us all nearby. Her prayers were finally answered and she enjoyed the past year with all of us here in California. My mom was the heart of the family and we will greatly miss her.

Bill - I was so sorry to hear of Sharon's passing.  You both were living tributes to true friendship and loving family life.  Please know you and your children are in our prayers...

Sharon was a loving, kind, generous person who will be missed by all who knew her, especially the ladies in our Bible Study Group.  May she rest in peace.

Love and Prayers to the Middleton Family.  We will greatly miss dear Sis Middleton. We had the privilege of knowing her and her husband for over 10 years.  She was always ready with a kind word and an affectionate hug.  She could always be counted on to be there to work in any area of the church.  Sis Middleton, You will be forever in our hearts.  We love you and will meet you again on the other side.

Through that window Sharon had a front row seat to a particularly bad storm that moved through our area.  Noticing the debris flying past the window, Sharon remained calm and kept serving all the people attending the reception who remained oblivious to what was happening outside.  An intoxicated wedding crasher from an outside golf party tent came in seeking shelter from the weather.  He gave Sharon a hug and told her he wished he had a Grandma just like her.  Sharon laughed and served him a piece of cake.  This was Sharon.  She was always the calm in the storm, at the center of everything, getting things done.  She made everyone who was part of her life feel like family.  It wasn't until our adult years as our paths crossed in South Dakota that Sharon and I became close.  I grew to admire all that she was and all that she had accomplished in her life, seeing in her qualities that I, myself lacked.  Recently, technology has kept us connected over the miles and I was fortunate to have been able to visit her several times over the past year.  It will take time for our hearts to heal and there will be a large void in our lives but if we close our eyes just for a moment and open our hearts, I know we will feel her loving hands and heart helping to guide us along in this journey we call life.  Sharon, my sister, my friend, I love you and will miss you.

My mother was an amazing person.  I say that with confidence and certainty.  Mom  had a hot meal waiting for the family every night.  If my siblings or I were wronged she would defend us incessantly.  She instilled a work ethic and drive in each us that made us what we are today.  Mom and I spoke every week for the past several years. I leaned on her for advice and always felt better after our conversations.  God and family were the center of her universe.  It was my mother's wish to have all her children near her.  I'm thankful this became a reality a year ago with Aric and his family moving to California.  I love you mom.  You will always be missed and never forgotten.

Sharon was such a fun loving woman and always had a smile on her face.  Been many years since I last saw her but she left a lasting impression.  God bless all of her family and friends as she will be dearly missed.

I am so sorry to hear of your family's loss. She will be missed by many, but a hole is left in the hearts of those closest to her. May God comfort the family knowing she is with her Lord and Savior. And probably having a reunion with family and friends who have passed.

Lots of great memories with Aunt Sharon, Uncle Bill and cousins Lane, Amy, Joel and Aric.  I always enjoyed going over to her house, when we lived in Rapid City.  There was always something fun for us kids to do.  We will miss her.  Prayers for her family.

Sharon was my best friend when we lived at Ellsworth AFB, S.D. She was always there for me. She listened to me and we laughed a lot and shared  recipes. One of those I still make, hard Christmas candy. We just reconnected in the last couple of years on facebook and I am so sorry that I have lost her so soon. My prayers go out to Bill and her family. I know she was there anchor. God Speed my friend until we meet again. Love you Beth.

Brad and I are so sorry for your loss. Sharon fought so hard for so long we are going to miss her hugs and Brad said he will miss her stuffed eggs with bacon, that woman could cook! Sharon was like a Berean when it came to God's word you and Sharon were faithful in coming to precepts bible study. Now no longer someone passing thru this world now she is home where she had once seen but a poor reflection as in a mirror but now sees Him face to face. 1 Cor. 13:12

Sharon was my sister in law, we married brothers, but to me She was a true Sister. We got along the first time I met Her.  When we would go to the base to see them She was always doing things for Her Family. Her cooking was out of this world and He craft work was perfect. When they came to our house She always brought something. When they moved to Huron was when we enjoyed each other the most. There never was a day we weren't together. Sometimes coffee in the morning and coffee in the afternoon. Not only was She a Sister but She was a Best Friend, a confidante, and Her passionate love for others would shine out of her whole body. Her hugs were the best because you knew She meant it. So much love flowed out of Her how can someone who got one of those hugs ever forget getting one. I don't know anyone who didn't love Her.I will miss you Sharon and a peace of my heart is with you. I know you are with the rest who have gone on before you and we all here will see you soon. Life is too short and I'm glad you are not suffering now. You, Bill, and Family gave me the best gift ever this Christmas. You all gave me yourselves. Thank you. Rest in the arms of the Lord Sharon. I love you so much and will never forget all the things you gave me. Not material things but heavenly things. Thank you for sharing your life with me. Love forever!!!!!!

I loved Sharon.  She was such a caring and giving person.  My prayers are with Bill and the whole family.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Bill and all the family. Sharon was such a very special person she was always so kind, loving and happy. She made everyone she met feel special and loved. We will miss her warm loving kindness. God bless you all.

I was lucky to have had such a special and incredibly close relationship with my Grandma Sharon, so -as one can imagine- as I watched her take her last breath I felt like I was loosing an important piece of myself. I was loosing my guidance, my confidante, one of my favorite people this world had to offer. However, instead of focusing on the ugly disease that took her life, I find it is important to share how beautiful she was both inside and out. My Grandma was the sun. She could light up a room with her  smile and laughter. She truly cared about people she had just met once, which is a quality of hers I strive for. She was hilarious and could get me laughing until I cried for hours. She also was the most amazing cook. Grandma always made the most delicious food catered to whoever was there and whatever their favorite dish was. (She always made me her raspberry pretzel dessert) I think that was her way of showing people she cared, and remembered what they liked.  Anyone who has ever met my grandma instantly recognized how caring, hilarious, spunky, and truly amazing she was. So to keep her alive in my heart I will continue her famous Christmas hard candy tradition that I've been doing with her the last four years, I will remember to love everyone no matter the situation or circumstance just as she did, and I will do everything in my power to make her proud. I love and miss you so much Grandma.

I was two days out of the hospital, bruised all over, with a black eye, a broken arm, and what the docs called a traumatic brain injury; when I quietly asked Sharon to pray with me at The Women's Conference. My head was still so swollen I could barely keep a hat on my scabby ole head...I scanned the room, and there she was...a cute lady who; to me looked like Mrs. Santa Claus...beautiful soft fluffy white hair, cute, chubby lil cherub cheeks and an all over sweetness that I KNEW was God's love...
I was determined Not to really go into what happened to me, just thought I'd try to ask God to heal my completely broken body.
Next thing I knew, Sharon & I were sitting outside with the sunshine glistening on her angelic snowy white hair...she was holding my hand, and looking at me over her glasses...I don't how to convey how safe I felt to really tell her about the near death experience God CLEARLY saved me from. But the words just came bubbling out of me, she listened with a loving, understanding and a peaceful calm, she prayed for God to mend my brokenness and never once did she act like I was crazy...even though the brutality of my random attack might make most people run screamin' away from me. She repeatedly reassured me, she reminded me of how deeply God loves me and as I looked down, Both her hands were holding mine. I remember her hands were so clean and pretty, and mine were bruised and scabbed-up. She didn't care, she held 'em anyway. I looked pretty scary, ball cap, bandages all over my head, black & blued, sun glasses on and head down in shame...hoping no one would ask me what happened. She didn't care, she gently hugged me anyway. I couldn't find the words to pray, she didn't care, she prayed for me anyway. Pretty soon, I found the words. Pretty soon, I lifted my shameful head, pretty soon God revealed to me, what I had forgotten... He truly DID save my life and truly DID use Sharon to help me remember. That was The Women's Conference, March of 2014. Since then, God healed my broken body, and my shattered spirit. I believe God used Sharon to launch me onto a path of miraculous restoration. The guy who tried to kill me went to prison, I relocated to The Bay Area, where I got to work with a team of Medical Dr.'s, and was fortunate enough to reconnect with my family...it took a long time, but I was able to resume my career and have (as of this February)now returned back to The Central Coast, where I am so blessed to have my own company, but moreover; a stronger renewed faith. I'd have to say: "An Unshakable Faith."  
I believe your sweet Mother played a significant role in helping me, by letting God use her. "In Christ's name, Thy Will Be Done." (I can still hear her saying that over me.)
I can feel Sharon smiling down from Heaven, and I have a feeling I am not the only person who's life she so positively impacted. 
May God Bless your beautiful family with comfort and reassurance that she really is peacefully home now.

All the wonders of Sharon's life have filled her heart with such joy. What a wonderful gift she will have with her forever and ever. Her smile was so genuine and she loved her family with all that she was. It is unmistakable in every photo that is shared here. There are no words to express the sorrow we feel. Please know what a joy she was to know and how very much we will miss her. You all have our deepest heartfelt sympathy. We will keep you close in our thoughts and our prayers. Sharon fought a good fight, you all must be very proud of her courage.

Sharon was such a warm, welcoming woman! It was very apparent that she loved her family. She would invite you to become part of that circle with open arms.  Sharon had an infectious smile that would brighten your day. She was a wonderful listener and could offer true wisdom. She was feisty and strong; an inspiration! I am very grateful that I was able to know her, and I will miss her very much. My condolences to the entire Middleton Family.

She was Sharon to most ,but Sis Middleton to us and we loved her.Sis Middleton was very special to the Truth Tabernacle Church family. Because of her illness she was not able to attend church much this past Year, but we have continued to pray for her and Br Middleton. She was such a worker for the kingdom and she did so with her whole heart. I will miss your hugs and miss hearing you pray for me and Pastor,but we will see you soon ,on the other side!

Sharon was awesome!  Such a fun, loving personality!!  She lite up a room with her smile and contagious laugh!  My mother and her would chat for hours on end when we lived at VAFB...
She also helped me get ready for my wedding and reception almost 25 yrs ago!  Such a wonderful lady!!!!
Sympathy to the entire Middleton family!  She will be forever in our hearts.

I'll never forget the first time I meet Sis. Middleton at church in Paso Robles. I loved her firecracker personality and her laugh. I was always asking her for different recipes, like her frog eye salad (no frog parts just silly name). She gave the best hugs, and always had an ear to listen to me and give me advice, sometimes not solicited, but needed. She will be, and is, greatly missed!

So sorry to hear of the passing of our dear Sis.  Sis Middleton was always a great friend,  encouraging and  willing to pray and help. I'll never forget the memories we made when she came to my rescue when I was sewing for a large wedding  and a few days before the wedding I got a new grand-baby. I would have never been able to get it all done without her help. We often reminisced about that funny and crazy week. Our church ran a food program one summer for school age kids. She was there everyday cooking and helping us serve.  Sis Middleton was meticulous and always paid close attention to detail.  You could count on her to get the job done and know it would be done correctly. Her family was her world and she enjoyed telling us how awesome they all were and sharing stories! She was a great friend and we loved her dearly!! Our thoughts, love, and prayers are with Bro Middleton, Amy and all of the family!! Rest In Peace sweet friend until we meet again!!

Thank you God for giving me the opportunity to have Sharon in my life for these past four years. She gave me lots of love and kindness and made me feel welcomed into her family. Through all this time I found a wise, strong, compassionate woman with a will to live. Forever she is going to be an example for all the generations in our family to be strong and never give up in whatever dreams and goals we have in life. Sharon you are always going to be in my heart and will have my love forever. I know you fought long and hard to live for your kids but God needed an angel in heaven. Now and always you will be watching over us.

It grieves me to think that I will not be seeing you here on earth again but I am sure we will meet again in heaven.  Thank Jesus for that!  It was always a joy to chat with you and you have left many found memories from your friendly conversations and hugs.  I am missing you and my heart goes out to others especially Bill.  We will be praying for the family as the days go on without you by their side.

Sharon's generosity of spirit and open heartedness were Apparent from the moment I met her. She welcomed me into her home and family as if I were long-lost relative. Through the years that never changed. I was always greeted with warmth and love. Sharon had endless curiosity about her and a boundless enthusiasm to be involved in everything. I think one reason she got eggs from me was to see me and to check up on how I was doing. 

I will miss her smile, I will miss her.

My deepest sympathy to Bill and your family on the loss of a very dear lady.  It was truly a blessing for me to spend days of my life with my special friend, Sharon.  Her love of life, willingness to serve others, positive beliefs and values, and her desire to be a good wife, mother, and grandmother were just a few of the reasons I loved and respected Sharon.  She was always there when I needed her with love and support. God be with each of you and bless this angel.

From the day I moved into my home in Paso Robles next door to Sharon and Bill Middleton, March 2008, they gave me such a warm and cordial welcome to the neighborhood.  Sharon and I became good friends, talking and laughing about anything and everything whenever we'd see each other.  Bill was always a big help, including mowing my lawns.  On one occasion several years later, Sharon and Amy took me to the hospital when my family was not available, and Sharon remembered my birthday from seeing my driver's license.  From that day on, Sharon would bake one of her super delicious apple pies on my birthday, and send Bill over to deliver the pie right out of the oven. Bless her heart!  I looked forward to each birthday event. Then there was Sharon's  special "glass candy" at Christmas time, or cherries in the summertime. As the cancer became worse for Sharon, I felt so helpless that I could not do anything to help her.  Bill was a wonderful devoted husband, and a good caregiver, as was their daughter Amy. I knew she was in good hands. In the last few months, Sharon and I had several very special 1:1 times together just talking about our life paths.  Sharon was such a beautiful person inside and out with such amazing strength, and courage.  I know her Christian faith kept her going, knowing that when God decided it was her time, she would be taken home to heaven to rest in peace.  I know we will see her again someday when it is our time, but for now, "RIP precious Sharon.  You are with Jesus now.  I am a better person for having known you, and I will miss you very much." My heart is heavy to learn such a lovely woman has left this earth. I will forever cherish the conversations with mama M. She was a wise woman and always knew what to say. Very kindhearted and had an infectious laugh. You will be greatly missed. Much love you ❤
