Carl Edward Blakely

Carl was born on August 8, 1948 in Georgetown, South Carolina to the late Samuel Woodrow and Mary Jane “Janie” (Barrineau) Blakely. Pops is survived by his wife Norma, son Charles Blakely and his fiancé Shalyn Marie Ferguson; his step daughter Pamela Roser (Scott Snyder), grandchildren Tyler Allen Blakely, Saphira Lynn and Matthew Wayne Ferguson; sister Callie (Robert) Barras of Murrell’s Inlet, SC; Mary Alice (Jim) Anthony; his brother Samuel Eugene (Linda) Blakely of Georgetown, SC and numerous nieces, nephews, and good friends.

Carl loved to hunt, fish, spend time with his family and his dog “Roxie” and work on and collect Dodge trucks. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam Conflict in the US Army. He was known as a very loving, caring person.

Friends may call at the Kauber Sammons Funeral Home in Pataskala on Wednesday from 2-4 pm and from 6-8 pm where a funeral service will be held on Thursday August 21, 2014 at 10:00 am. Interment with military honors will be in the Pataskala Cemetery.
