Chadwick “Chad” Arthur Sellers, 41, of Thornville OH passed away peacefully on Friday, October 14, 2022, surrounded by his family and friends. Chad excelled at many titles - husband, father, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, friend, volunteer youth coach for the Lakewood school district and former head coach for Worthington Kilbourne. His short-lived battle with liver cancer showed how he faced life challenges with courage, strength, determination, and a smile. Despite the pain, he still pushed forward hoping to have a chance at this thing we call life.
Not everyone gets to marry their best friend, but Chad did. When Chad and Summer met, they knew they were meant for each other. Being twenty-two & twenty-one years old, they were just starting out in life not knowing what the next day would bring. But after they met, they knew whatever was coming their way, they would get to do it together. Fast forward, Chad asks Summer to be his wife. There they were, just two young souls forming as one about to do life together. Country concerts, OSU games, weekend getaways with friends, holidays, festivals, movies and just time together, was what they enjoyed. After a few years of being just the two of them, they decided to start their family.
Anyone that knew Chad knew that he loved his sports. From watching the kids in their little league games, coaching at the little league and middle school levels, going to Blue Jackets games, to watching THE Ohio State Buckeyes play on Saturdays in the fall. Chad was always the biggest fan with the loudest voice. No one ever doubted if Chad was there cheering them on.
Chad graduated from Watkins Memorial High School (Pataskala OH) in 2000. He started working at Kroger in Reynoldsburg at the youthful age of fourteen. From bagging groceries in the store, he moved onward and upward to working at the Kroger Bakery in downtown Columbus till 2019. From there he worked at Ecolab (2 years), and Evoqua Water Technologies (1 year). For a brief period, he worked at Muetzel Plumbing, before being diagnosed with liver cancer and not being able to continue working there. His last and final job was at Gutridge Plumbing, where even though he only worked there for a few short days, he was already adored by all. Chad was one of the hardest working people in the world. Taking care of his family was always his #1 priority.
Chad is preceded in death by his grandparents, Arthur & Grace Sellers. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Summer; and his greatest accomplishments in life – his two children: Chase Hayden (15) and Gracie Renay (11). Chad is also survived by his father, Richard “Dick” Sellers; brother, Rodney (Kimberly) Sellers; in-laws, Bernie & Deborah Ratcliff; nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends that became family.
A visitation for Chad will be held Wednesday, October 19, 2022, from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Kauber-Fraley Funeral Home, 289 S. Main St., Pataskala OH. A funeral service will occur Thursday, October 20, 2022, at 11:00AM at Kauber-Fraley Funeral Home.
Chad will be laid to rest in Kirkersville Cemetery, Kirkersville, Ohio.
