Elaine Hopkins, 96, (8-24-1923 – 12-31-2019) was born in Norfolk, VA, a daughter to the late Howard and Grace (Havens) Eggert. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Fred Hopkins; brother, Howard Eggert (Majorie and Eleanor) and former husband, Phillip W. Freeman. Elaine loved her family thissssssssss much and leaves behind sons, Philip (Deborah) Freeman of Pickerington, OH, George (Virginia) Freeman of Waynesville, NC and David (Sue) Freeman of Midlothian, VA; grandchildren, David (Sylvia) Freeman Jr., Angela (Bubba) Massey, Matthew Freeman and Christy (Chad) Slaney; eight great-grandchildren; her special nephews, Bill (Colette) Eggert, Steve (Debi) Eggert and cousin, Barbie Neal. Elaine was a wife, mother and elementary school teacher who had a great sense of humor and loved music, especially Big Band music and Tony Bennett. She could be found dancing in her living room for the pure joy of it. Elaine grew up in Pulaski, VA, was a long-time resident of Orlando and spent the final 15 years of her life in Pickerington, OH.
