

James L. Dalgarn, 68, passed away peacefully at OSU East on Wednesday, October 12, 2011. James was born in Columbus, Ohio on November 3, 1942. Proceded in death by his father John Robert Dalgarn. He is survived by his wife of over 40 years the former Carole (Landes), son, Marine Sgt Major, James Dalgarn, Jr. (Christine), daughter Lauren (Frank) Xavier, brother Jay (Linda), mother-in-law Marie Landes, favorite niece, Melinda Bough, mother, Iona, 7 grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
James, a former banker and retailer, was in later years a garden landscape manager. He attended Watkins Memorial High School and The Ohio State University. A natural born athlete, he lettered and excelled in many sports with awards in football and golf. He was invited to play in the North/South Golf Amateur in Pinehurst. He won trophies in skeet shooting and when he lived in the south took flying lessons, soloed and got his pilots license.
His biggest passion was volunteering; he enjoyed passing out food at Faith Mission with his friends at Prince of Peace Church. He appreciated all the prayers and support of the pastors and loving members during his illness. James remembers with fondness the good times with the Bexley Activities Club and the wonderful fellowship he had at the Watkins Memorial Alumni Reunion, a few years ago.
Just like a lost sheep God welcomes him home and says I Love You my Child-Come on in. Welcome Home. Friends may call at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 530 McNaughten Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43213, on Saturday, October 15, 2011 from 10:00 until time of service at 11:00am with Pastor Marc Schroeder officiating.
