

Norma Jean Robson, 72, of Pataskala, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2016 at OSU Medical Center. She was born on September 4, 1943 in Columbus, OH, a daughter to the late Chester Alvin and Dorothy Marie (Jones) Liller. Norma graduated from Columbus School of Practical Nursing in 1962 as an LPN. She worked at Riverside Methodist Hospital and Children's Hospital in Cincinnati until 1966, from 1982 to 1999 she was an assistant instructor at Forest Rose School in Lancaster, Ohio working with developmentally disabled children. While at Forest Rose she held various offices in the teacher's association and started a cub scout troop for the students. From 1999 to 2012 she was an assistant instructor for Fairfield County Board of Education working with preschool children with autism. Norma enjoyed gardening, walking, traveling, broadway shows, hip hop dancing, exercising, and card club for 44 years with the same 4 couples. During her life, Norma was involved in many activities and organizations over the years. She was a Charter member of Caring and Sharing Ohio Child Conservation League (member for 40 years) holding all offices in the organization. Norma served as a Youth Director, Sunday school teacher, and bible school teacher for United Methodist Church for many years. She also served as a cub scout leader and den mother for 10 years; Band Booster member, cheer leader advisor at cheerleading camp at Berne Union High School. After retirement, Norma volunteered for Heartland Hospice, Leads Food Pantry in Pataskala, various Assisted Living Communities assisting with activities for the residents. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, John Henry Robson; children, John Phillip (Michelle) Robson, Todd Matthew (Debbie) Robson, Betsy Jo Elick (Reese) Foster; grandchildren, Raedden Robson, Ridge Robson, Jack Robson, Lilly Robson, Anna Marie Robson, Harrison Foster, and Kolton Elick. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 15, 2016 from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. at Summit Station United Methodist Church, 6626 Summit Road SW, Summit Station, OH 43073. Memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Rob Turner officiating. Arrangements handled by KAUBER-FRALEY FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Norma Jean Robson Memorial Scholarship Fund at Summit Station Methodist Church.
