

Oades (Blackie) was born in Wayland, Ky on August 23, 1923 where he was a welder and a coal miner. He married and moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1945 with his loving wife. He remained a welder by trade until he retired in 1982. Oades loved sports and played baseball for Wayland Schools. He was an avid gardener, hunter and fisherman throughout his life. He lived a fulfilling and adventurous life surrounded by his many family members. Oades was a loving husband, dad and grandpa. He will be truly missed.
Oades is preceded in death by his parents Farris and Ida; brothers Ernest, David and Elbie; sister Frugie; son Robert; daughter-in-law Linda. Survived by his loving wife Marie of 67 years; son David; daughter Brenda (Dennis); brothers Daniel and Bobby (Edie); grandchildren Bryon, Andy, Brianna (Ryan), Shanie and Loren; great grandchildren Sarah (Nathan), Zac, Zenia, Mason (Jessie), Brandon, Aby, Breydon and Ethan; great great grandchildren Kaleb, Lyric, Leighton and Kylee.
