William Edward Cook

Bill is survived by wife, Bonnie (Boyd Wallace) Cook; sister, Eleanor (Cook) Yost, his four children: William (AnnMarie) Cook, Rebecca (Jason) Hockstok, Christopher (Shannon) Wallace, and Bryan Wallace, as well as ten grandchildren: Jake Cook, Emily Cook, Allison Cook, Amber Hockstok, Ashley Hockstok, AJ Hockstok, Maxwell Wallace, Madi Wallace, Owen Wallace, Nolen Wallace. And many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Bill was a professional firefighter/EMT for Whitehall Fire Department for 35 years and a volunteer for Closter (New Jersey), Pataskala and West Licking Fire Departments for many years. Bill retired as Assistant Fire Chief of the Whitehall Fire Department in 1999 and has held a variety of jobs since. He and Bonnie lived aboard and traveled extensively on their boat, BonnFire, for 15 years.

Bill attended and served Pataskala United Methodist Church on many committees and as a Trustee. Bill was proud to be part of planning and implementing the Pataskala Street Fair for many years. He enjoyed announcing Bingo, including during “The 1984 Pataskala Street Fair Bingo Bust”. Most recently, he was a member of the Pataskala Board of Zoning Appeals and the Licking County Senior Levy Committee. He was proud to take an Honor Flight to Washington, DC, in 2021, in recognition of his US Air Force years during the Vietnam era.

Bill will be sadly missed by family, friends, and all who knew him. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was admired by all for overcoming many health obstacles and maintaining a positive attitude in life.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 17, 2022, from 5:00 to 7:00pm at Pataskala United Methodist Church, 458 S. Main Street, Pataskala, Ohio 43062.

Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, June 18, 2022, 11:00 am at Pataskala United Methodist Church, 458 S. Main Street, Pataskala, Ohio 43062.
