Anita was born on December 26, 1924 to Alton and Frances Morrison in Auburn, California. Anita went to nursing school in California and became a Registered Nurse. She met the love of her life Virgil Johnson, and they were married on February 12, 1949 in Lincoln, California. In early 1950 they bought a ranch between Sweet and Ola. In 1951, they found themselves back at the Johnson Ranch in Payette, Idaho where they raised black angus cattle. Anita loved and was so proud to be a rancher’s wife. She started at Presbyterian hospital and then Presbyterian Nursing home where she worked most of her life. She loved taking care of patients and spoke of many fond memories.
Anita belonged to the First Baptist church and was very involved any way she could be. She was well known for her generosity and kindness.
Anita is survived by her daughter in law Laura Johnson, granddaughters Jennifer Johnson (Lonnie Hagley) Julie Johnson and great grandsons Kofi Williams, Travers Johnson and Mick Johnson, Nephews Dan (Joyce) Smith, Greg Smith, Tom (Deanna) Morrison, Jim (Pat) Morrison, Nieces, Dessa Smith, Kimberly Clark and multiple great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. Anita loved her family with all her heart and cherished them all. As Anita would say “Don’t cry, ok maybe a little”.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Megan Amaya, and Stacy Stratton for their loving care so Anita could return home where she could pass in the comfort of her own surroundings.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents, Alton and Frances Morrison; her husband of 60 years Virgil Johnson; her son Walter Johnson, her grandson Jess Johnson, her brother William Morrison and her nephew David Morrison.
