Sadly on August 29th Eric Ray Tschida of Payette passed away. He was born the second of two boys to Dale and Anita Tschida on December 2, 1986. Eric grew up in Ontario and attended both Pioneer and St. Peter elementary schools. Growing up Eric enjoyed all outdoor adventures with his brother Andrew and best friend Matthew.
Eric graduated from Ontario High School in 2005. He went on to earn his welding certificate from TVCC. He worked as a welder and was known as a dedicated, skilled employee. He met Kayla DeLong in 2014 and together they created a beautiful home for their blended family.
Eric was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend. Although sometimes a man of few words, he was loyal and willing to help family and friends at a moment’s notice. He was a talented artist working with metal, paints, and woods. Eric loved building things and creating pieces for his family. He was also a gifted mechanic. Eric shared his cooking skills with those he loved. Never showing up to a family dinner empty handed, he offered amazing homemade desserts, or his awesome home-canned pickles, jams, and veggies.
Eric is survived by his wife Kayla, daughters Karsyn Rae and Piper Lyn, step-daughter Aviana, his parents Dale and Anita Tschida, his brother Andrew and sister-in-law Tiffani and three nieces.
Eric is missed beyond measure. Please join our family as we celebrate Eric’s life on Thursday, September 5th at 2:00 p.m. at the R & L Event Center 633 2nd Ave. Payette. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund for his family has been made at Malheur Credit Union. Please dress casually Eric wouldn’t want it any other way.
