

He grew up and attended Nyssa, OR schools. Randy didn’t know a stranger and found something in common with everyone. He loved the outdoors, hunting and adventures. He was a master craftsman who was an extreme perfectionist. He could make, fix or build anything. Randy loved working in the field of construction, and with his love of motors, he found himself operating heavy equipment down to a power saw.
Randy’s proudest accomplishment was when he completed and graduated from the Oregon Police Academy in 2005.
He is survived by his children Cody Leavitt and grandson Weston of Fruitland, Makayla and Caleb Leavitt of Fruitland; step-children Troy and Kami Henricks of Ontario; siblings Richard Leavitt of Oklahoma, Mechelle Leavitt of Nampa, Doty Eckhart Leavitt of Nampa, and twin brother Andy and Kathy Leavitt of Meridian; numerous nieces and nephews, very close friends Kyle and Jami Waits of Hood River, OR. In the last few years he has shared his life with Kate Johnson and her two sons, Caycen and Cyris Carrillo of Payette.
Preceded in death by mother Bonnie Steiner Leavitt; maternal grandparents Wally and Lucille Steiner; Uncle Bob White; and close friend Sharon Martin.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 3rd, at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, 112 N. 9th St., Payette. Inurnment will follow at Hilltop Memorial Cemetery, Nyssa, OR. Condolences may be made to Randy’s family at www.shaffer-jensenchapel.com.
