Alan "Scotty" Scott Bishop

Alan Scott "Scotty" Bishop, 57, of Ellijay, GA (formerly of DeKalb County) passed away on January 2, 2018. He was a 1978 graduate of Cedar Grove High School in Ellenwood. Scotty was owner of Tight Security Systems and was formerly employed at Delta Airlines. He was a member of the Gilmer County Chamber of Commerce and Gilmer Home Builders Association. An avid Georgia Bulldogs fan, he also enjoyed golfing, fishing, cooking, sailing on Lake Lanier, and crossword puzzles. Scotty was dedicated to his family and his job. He enjoyed being with his friends and his customers.

Scotty was preceded in death by his parents, Jean and Don Bishop; and his brother, Clay Bishop. He is survived by his loving wife, Sabrina Gasaway Bishop; brother, Mike (Cathryn) Bennett, Acworth, GA; sisters, Sherry (Angel) Sotelo, Austell, GA; Melinda (Mike) Willis, Roswell, GA; brothers, Tony (Kathy) Bishop and Brian (Kim) Bishop, all of CA; aunt, Jo Butler, Stone Mountain, GA; many beloved nieces and nephews; and his Chrissy cat.

A Celebration of Life Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2018 in the chapel of Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, 135 Senoia Road, Peachtree City, 30269. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5-8 p.m. Interment to follow the services at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta, GA with Jake House, Brian Bishop, Tony Bishop, Rick Stewart, David Teate, Mark Simms, and Angel Sotelo serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dave Johnston and Mike Jones.
