Bruno Carmelo Noto, 92, of Fayetteville, GA (formerly of North Ridgeville, OH) passed away peacefully at home on April 11, 2026, following a lengthy illness. He was born in Renfrew, PA on July 1, 1933, to Vincenzo and Frances (Caruso) Noto, the third of six children.
Soon after graduating from Evans City High School (Pennsylvania), he was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean War, serving at Ft. Riley, KS. He married Norma Jean Donaldson in 1952. Upon leaving the service, Bruno continued working as a meatcutter, a trade he learned as a teenager. In the 1960s Bruno moved his family to North Ridgeville to take a managerial position with Loblaw’s grocery stores, the first of several positions he held with Loblaw’s in the Northeast Ohio area. In the 1970’s Bruno switched careers, working for Eastern Airlines in Cleveland and eventually, Atlanta. Bruno worked in construction for various builders in the Fayetteville area until his retirement.
Bruno and Norma enjoyed traveling, visiting Belgium, South Africa, and Italy. Memorable trips were to Bruno’s parent’s hometown of Molochio, Reggio Calabria, Italy, and the town of Noto in Sicily. For nearly forty years Bruno’s siblings and their families gathered for a week every summer. Bruno enjoyed biking during these reunions as well as eating all the terrific food that could be found at an Italian family gathering. Food was a favorite topic of Bruno’s - eating, cooking and especially talking about food. All of Norma’s pies were his favorite, but he favored pumpkin. Like his father, Bruno had a vegetable garden for many years and loved to tinker in his garage and around the yard. One of his proudest accomplishments was overseeing and taking part in the building of his home in Fayetteville. He will be missed by so many.
Bruno was a founding member of St. Gabriel Church in Fayetteville and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Bruno is survived by his beloved wife of 73 years, Norma Jean (nee) Donaldson; his children, Donna McGuire (Mark) of Elyria, OH, Mike Noto of Fayetteville, GA, Patrick Noto (Karen Muehlhauser) of Mineral, VA and Joseph Noto of Fayetteville, GA; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Buccci (Lucien), Michael Noto, Jr., Brett Noto (Ellen), Bryan Noto (Mary), Daniel McGuire (Deanna), and Vincent Noto; his great-grandchildren, Basil Gray, Magnolia and Ashton Bucci, Abigail, Hailey, Piper, and Madeline Noto; his siblings, Don Noto, Nelson Noto, James Noto; his brother-in-law, Paul Welsh; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Welsh and Lena Jarvie; brother-in-law, James Jarvie; sister-in-law, Nancy Noto; and his nephew, Matthew Noto.
All arrangements were made under the direction of Carmichael - Hemperley Funeral Home in Peachtree City where a private family service was held.
Memorial contributions may be made in Bruno’s memory to St. Gabriel Church of Fayetteville, GA or to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
