Ed was born in Quincy, MA October 2, 1931, and was raised in Houghs Neck, MA. He enlisted in the Air Force following graduation from High School and served his country during the Korean War. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
Ed married the love of his life on June 15th, 1957. They went on to have five children together and remained side by side until her passing more than 61 years later in December of 2018.
Ed worked for Delta Airlines for 36 years as a mechanic and Avionics Technician. He was an avid golfer, fisherman and loved the sea.
His greatest love was for his wife, family, and the Lord. With his wife and children, they moved to Georgia in 1973 to follow his career with Delta. In 1974 along with a few other families they helped create the mission that would become Holy Trinity Catholic Church and worked hard to make it the Parish it is today. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and was involved in numerous charitable activities. Well into his eighties Ed would get up before dawn on Saturday and collect donated food from local grocery stores and then drive to the St. Francis Mission in downtown Atlanta to provide nourishment for our homeless and needy brothers and sisters. He was a selfless, humble, faithful, devout, and loving man.
Ed was preceded in death by his beloved wife Hope, his son Stephen, and his son-in-law Mike Rogers. He is survived by his children: Cheryl Rogers, Sharon Love, Maureen Love, and Paul (Irene) Love. Grandchildren: Leighanne (Drew) Wood, Steven (Brittney) Love, David McGee, Danielle McGee, Lauren (Zach) Henley, Kerry (Anna) Love, and Joseph (Courtney) Moral.
