

Gloria grew up in Waco, TX, attended Paul Quinn College and met her husband Albert at the USO. They lived in states from Alaska to New Jersey, moving every four years with the Army for 24 years, then settling in Los Angeles, CA before retiring in Indio, CA.
Gloria played golf, duplicate Bridge, she was a seamstress, and also a Girl Scout leader of a mounted horseback riding troop and a hospital volunteer. She was able to visit Japan and Germany and played golf everywhere. She played 18 holes of golf three times a week until she was 80 years old. She moved to Newnan in 2001 to live with her daughter.
Gloria was a member of First Baptist Church Peachtree City where she volunteered for lunch bunch and did light office work. She restarted taking piano lessons and continued taking them until she was 93.
Gloria is preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, CWO4 Albert Brown Jr.; and her beloved parents.
Gloria is survived by her daughter, Gilda (Calvin) Cheatham of Newnan; and her son, Albert Brown of Los Angeles, CA. She will be wonderfully remembered by her four granddaughters, Tammy (Julian) Edun, Dewyne Silverbridge, Lisa (Chidi) Njoku, Tiffany (Aundra) Williams; by her eight great-grandchildren, McKenna & Lochlan Jefferson, Isaiah & Amyas Njoku, Aundrae, Summer & Sydney Williams, and Jordan Edun; son-in-law, Shawn Jefferson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Peachtree City with Dr. Joey Rodgers officiating. The visitation will be at the church one hour prior to service time. Burial will take place at 1:30pm, July 8, 2021 at GA National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
