Jo-Carole Trenfel Whitlock

Mrs. Jo-Carole Trenfel Whitlock, 70, of Tyrone, GA passed away, Friday, August 28, 2015 at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born to the late Goldene Hangos Trenfel Dioguardi and Phillip Dioguardi in Chicago, IL on July 17, 1945. She was raised by her mother and step-father, George William Trenfel of San Diego, CA and she grew up in La Jolla, CA. Jim and Jo-Carole are members of St. Christopher's Greek Orthodox Church in Peachtree City, GA. She was proud to be a Flight Attendant for Eastern Airlines for 25 years and she loved to travel. Jo-Carole was also a proud member of the Silverliners Flight Attendant Organization where she had many cherished friends.She was a huge NASCAR fan and Jeff Gordon was her favorite driver. She was also a big sports fan and she loved her Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, and Dallas Cowboys. Jo-Carole will truly missed by all who love her dearly.

Jo-Carole is survived by her husband of 45 years, James F. Whitlock of Tyrone, GA; son, Shaun J. Whitlock of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Kimberly J. Whitlock and her partner, Elizabeth Downes of Decatur, GA; sister, Lorelei M. Neitzel; niece, Phaedra M. Neitzel, and nephews, Blake Neitzel and Tyler Neitzel, all of Los Angeles, CA; brother, Bill Trenfel and wife, Shawn Trenfel, niece, Hailey Trenfel, and nephew, Bill Trenfel, all of San Diego, CA; loyal sisters-in-law, Genie Knight and husband, Scott Knight, niece, Beth Knight, and nephews, Tim Hadsell and Justin Knight, and LaLa Milton and her children, and Brent Milton and Robin Hornsby, all of Atlanta, GA; her loyal caregiver and friend, Bobbi Moran of Peachtree City, GA; and her “adopted family”, the Pelky’s: Randy, Anna, Christina, and Steven all of Sharpsburg, GA.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 4, 2015 at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home in Peachtree City, GA from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 12:00pm at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Annunciation in Atlanta, GA with Father George Tsahakis presiding. She will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Westminster Memorial Gardens in Peachtree City, GA 2:15pm.
