

Jo Ann Mays (Brown), also known as Jodi, of Fayetteville, GA passed away on Friday, August 14, 2020 surrounded by loved ones. Jodi was born on August 19, 1950 to the late Barbara Ann and William Ralph Brown. She was born in Atlanta, GA and then travelled all over the southeast with her husband David, but always considered Fayetteville their home.
Jodi was a member of Harps Crossing Baptist Church in Fayetteville, GA. She worked in the public-school system for years prior to enjoying life as a stay at home mother to her two sons. Jodi loved her family and friends with all her heart. She enjoyed spending time with family over dinners and visiting New Smyrna Beach. She was passionate about animals, especially her dogs.
Jodi was preceded in death by her husband, David Mays; parents, Barbara Ann and William Ralph Brown; stepson, Chris Mays; and her father-in-law, Bruce Mays.
Jodi is survived by sons, Jeffrey Mays and Michael Mays; daughters-in-law, Beth and Kayla; sister, Sheila Watson; brother-in-law, Dennis Watson; half-brother, Bill Brown (Ann); stepson, Bryan Mays (Danielle); sisters-in-law, Paula and Sandy; brothers-in-law, Gary (Susan) and Steve (Sharon); mother-in-law, Betty Mays; and her nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a thank you to Beth Mays and to Southern Grace Hospice for taking such wonderful care of Jodi.
Family and friends are invited to attend a socially distanced Celebration of Life for her on August 22, 2020 at Harps Crossing Baptist Church, 1183 Highway 92 South, Fayetteville, GA 30215. The family will receive friends at 12:00pm. The service will follow at 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers Jodi requested that donations be made in her memory to Harps Crossing Baptist Church.
