Her humor and quick wit were unsurpassed. She and her late sister were always a source of fun wherever they went. As frequent visitors of convalescent centers, they left the patients in a trail of laughter. Once at a Hallmark store, the owner remarked that customers paused and gathered around laughing at their antics. A show they took with them whenever they were together.
One of her greatest joys was her extensive Christmas Trees collection that she decorated for family and friends to enjoy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, of 64 years, Gilbert Clement McDuffie, Jr.; and by her sister, Mary Scott.
She is survived by her brother, Colonel James Lee Newborn; brother-in-law, Thomas R. Scott; and sister-in-law, Mary Petty; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
