Kevin Avery McKenzie

Kevin was a devoted Son, Brother, Uncle, Partner and Friend. With his adventurous, natural, and outgoing personality Kevin was a true friend to everyone. Although Kevin did not have any children of his own, Kevin was excellent with kids of all ages and became an adopted uncle to many of his friends’ children on top of his niece and nephew. He introduced many of his friends to his passions of camping, roller coasters, and even trains. If Kevin was not working at his job at Owens Corning Fiberglass Company, he was either helping a friend, riding his motorcycle, spending the day at the lake, or on a trip to an amusement park.

Kevin was preceded in death by his mother, Laurie Veal; and his maternal grandparents, AD & Betty Veal.

He is survived by his father and stepmother, Allen and Carol McKenzie of Sharpsburg, GA; his brother, Chris McKenzie; niece & nephew, Madison & Bryson McKenzie of King George, VA; his two step-sisters, Wendi (Larry) Lee of Tyrone, GA & Christi Bedgood of Fayetteville, GA; his paternal grandparents, Mary Frances & James Carlisle of Newnan, GA; his fiancé, Lori Minatree & her children of Sharpsburg, Ga.

Kevin definitely leaves this world a better place.

The family will receive friends at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 5, 2021 at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, 135 Senoia Road, Peachtree City, GA with a Celebration of Life Memorial service held in the chapel at 3:00 p.m., followed by full Masonic Rites.
