

Marcia Lockwood Smith 91, of Peachtree City, Georgia died on September 23, 2023, after enjoying a very good life. She was born on February 11, 1932, in Buffalo, New York to the late Arthur P Lockwood and Olga Gnaedinger Lockwood. She is predeceased by her lifelong love and spouse, John D. Smith.
Marcia is survived by her son, Darryl Smith of Fayetteville, son, David and wife, Indie Smith of Peachtree City; Debra Hunter (DIL) of Kissimmee, FL; and George Martin (SIL) of Peachtree City; grandchildren, Rachel Martin, Nathan and wife, Brigitte Martin, Leilani Smith, Justin and wife, Rachel Smith, Dalton Smith and Emily Smith; great-grandchildren, Isabella McNeil, A.J. McNeil and Priya Smith.
Marcia is predeceased by her daughter, Yvonne Smith Martin; son, Marty Smith; siblings, Bob Lockwood, Gloria Lockwood Lanni, and Patricia Lockwood; and Ancel McNeil (GSIL).
Marcia taught Kindergarten at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Orlando, where she also served as event planner. This was followed by a diverse career in retail. After retiring she gave back to the community volunteering at places such as The Real Life Store, Clothes Less Traveled and many church events. She was a devoted Mom and Housewife. She was a dear and dedicated friend to so many.
Marcia had a passion for GOD, people, reading, music and dancing. Marcia loved to spend her time at yard sales. She was always the life of the party, shared her quick wit and her endearing smile. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Even in her last day she brought joy and humor to those who cared for her. The family gives thanks to those who showed her kindness at Brightmoor Hospice.
A celebration of Marcia’s life will be held at Peachtree City First Baptist Church, 208 Willowbend Road in Peachtree City, beginning at 2:00pm, Sunday October 15, 2023. A reception will immediately follow at her son’s home 103 Everhill, Peachtree City.
