

Michael Scott Sherer of Newnan, Georgia passed away April 7, 2022. He was born December 1, 1958 in Springfield, Illinois. He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul Ramon and Mary Emma Sherer, as well as a sister, Gail (Robert) Kruse.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Katherine Sherer, and two children, Elizabeth (Michael) Aliffi and William Sherer, as well as a sister, Mary Alice Sherer, and multiple nieces and nephews.
Scott served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force and the Illinois Air National Guard, flying F-4 Phantoms around the United States and Europe. After discharging from service to spend more time with his family, Scott spent twenty years operating as a biomedical technician in various companies including Bayer, Siemens, and Prime Healthcare.
Scott will forever be loved and remembered for his intelligence and wit, always prepared with a quip despite his deceptively quiet exterior. Fun-loving with a strong sense of adventure, Scott's 'need for speed' attitude will continue to inspire those who knew him to look for the next exciting new experience.
A devoted husband, father, and friend, Scott will be dearly missed by all who were so blessed to know him.
A Celebration of Life Visitation with Military Honors will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 in the Rose Room of Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home & Crematory, 135 Senoia Road, Peachtree City, Georgia 30269.
